  1. Skew t for tomorrow in Aboyne looks a day of heavy showers for our north east residents such as @Quinach, can see just how moist it is all the way up to about 13,000 feet could be a bit of thunder around too
  2. quite unbelievable that it was a year ago today for the forever famous August 11th/12th 2020 storms, will always be remembered especially by those of us that were under the most severe of the conditions for no less than 12 hours we know it was a trough that set things off but I truly believe the forth played its part as it often has done over the last few years if there are any ways to study if there has been dramatic changes in the forth I'd be interested to see any findings who knows what the next weather event of severe magnitude will be but those storms were probably the greatest example of careful what you wish for, though I'll be hoping its snow events
  3. @WeatherPops welcome we really are a friendly bunch so I'm sure you will feel relaxed posting in no time, just @Mair Snaw goes a bit berserk on the Snaw hunt... Chill lad it's coming
  4. This later got rated EF3 from couple of days ago And into the early hours this morning a cell lasted 6+ hours through iowa
  5. 6z just out, the showers and storms forecast to near enough stall through Fife I'd say if it pans out that way flooding will be a distinct possibility widely +30mm with 50+ in some places Shower yesterday clear to see how elevated the bases were
  6. How's the luck seen the hail in Forth heard some rumbles but still no overhead storm, more good pic opportunities.
  7. Really moist skew t readings similar for tomorrow so I’d say any showers and storms likely to produce quite a lot of rain maybe a bit of flooding in a few areas can see Pwat values of 3 on there “2.00 inches or above = very high moisture content” SKEW-T: A LOOK AT PW WWW.THEWEATHERPREDICTION.COM
  8. Good seeing the reports of storms further north and north west, when I seen things firing up to the south west did think I'd get the first storm of the year but wasn't to be, think the easterly storm killer played a part. Again chances over the next couple of days, tomorrow a front moving south then localised instability in the east Similar conditions on Friday
  9. Next few days could have storms for many, Monday has a low moving close to the east coast, CAPE just continuing to increase throughout the day with developing cells likely to start further west then move east into the evening. Tuesday potentially storms from near enough start to finish as a barbed trough on the fax shown tastily positioned then lowering pressure and a front behind that
  10. Sticking with my Cairngorms and south west of there idea for today’s storms, might also be something near south western coast, Callander showing the instability nicely and at the end of the 0z run check that 850 temps of only +2 likely will change a bit but stood out
  11. Once it’s within the range of 2km wrf I will get a better idea but Friday might have some feisty storms getting going say from the Cairngorms then southwest of there over toward the west with 1000+ CAPE easily as indicated here
  12. @NUT total for the month so far for me is 103.73mm nearly all of that between 3rd - 7th
  13. Wasn't any storms overhead here yesterday but could see the cells getting going to the west
  14. I'm sure I heard a fast rumble from that, didn't get anything overhead but to the west things were getting going
  15. Developed and lingered to the west earlier today and a bit of mammatus was forming
