  1. Apologies mods as it’s not current weather chat but have to disagree with that “Severe winter weather and storm Darcy, February 2021 The UK experienced a week of severe winter weather from 7 to 13 February, with easterly winds drawing a bitterly cold airflow from eastern Europe. Storm Darcy brought some strong winds and heavy snow to parts of south-east England on 7th, while persistent snow showers resulted in significant accumulations across eastern England and Scotland. Daytime temperatures struggled to rise above freezing, and, combined with the wind, resulted in severe wind-chill, particularly on the exposed east coast. Much of eastern Scotland experienced deep lying snow with depths in some places of 20 to 30cm or more. 11th/12th February was a bitterly cold night with temperatures of -10 to -15°C across eastern Scotland, and three stations falling below -20°C. At Braemar, -23.0°C made this the UK’s lowest temperature since December 1995.” https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/binaries/content/assets/metofficegovuk/pdf/weather/learn-about/uk-past-events/interesting/2021/2021_02_low_temperatures.pdf
  2. Not a normal headline that Huge otter spotted wandering through Fife town centre WWW.GOOGLE.COM Pictures of a large otter spotted in Rosyth in Fife have circulated on social media with animal welfare officers unable to find the creature.
  3. Not sure which type of clouds these are, taken on Monday evening
  4. As others have said tomorrow is really interesting That's an atmosphere ripe for all kinds of storms it's the ones shown individually that catch my eye wouldn't be ruling out the chance of a supercell but its a really tough one to call so the morning runs will be worth looking at
  5. Need a bit of cloud ID help please a lovely display but not quite sure exactly what kind @Mr Frost any clue?
  6. Thought they were in your garden @Serac Much sunnier with sea breeze still there top temp so far 15.8C
  7. It can be both a blessing or a curse, if it's days where other places are roasting at say 25-30C it's nice when it comes off the sea and keeps it cool but it's a notorious storm killer I've seen it many times when storms either look likely to develop but it stops anything happening or storms move into the cooler easterly flow and fall apart
  8. Will see what's showing once its on the higher resolution wrfs but at the min looks like a lack of CAPE and it looks different to the usual plumes with the forecast movement of the low more of a SE > NW movement west of UK whereas we would normally get more SW > NE and through the UK
