  1. yeah but if u read the facebook page they are proud of all their super accurate predictions - it really is a love fest on that page. mostly them loving themselves right enough as they delete comments that arent complimentary
  2. the ever accurate folks over at exacta are again predicting a real certainty for a very cold and snowy winter. they did at least acknowledge last year they got it wrong - but said this is one of the few times then on to claim how great they are lol unfortunatly i cant read the whole story as i need to pay for the privelage. ill get right on that....or not....
  3. Can't beat a white Christmas can you? You just never know, we could get another event worthy of excitement, fingers crossed!
  4. Early winter hopes is the thread title, don't think people need to take it so seriously at this stage.....just hopes, I don't think anyone is seriously forecasting that far ahead....
  5. As we are obviously too far out for anything close to a guess for winter, what kind of timescale do you think is from experience a good time to start making educated guesses? I realise even tomorrows weather is always open for interpretation lol
  6. To be honest I don't really care so much about snow on Xmas day. Just the period in general. Snow on Xmas eve would for me be more of an event, I prefer Xmas eve generally for some reason lol
  7. His argument I believe is that by saying Scotland will be snowy - he's correct - high altitude typically always will. He keeps it vague enough to mean he will always be correct. So yes, utter tool. The fact you can't add unmoderated comments to his fb page is testimony to his toolishness
  8. Yet still he seems to charge and people I presume people buy his guff! I have notice if u post on his fab page to query anything - the comments never appear unless they are complimentary Lol don't get me wrong, as he often predicts huge winter events - I wish he was correct! But I've never known him to be unless its by accident
  9. Jeez he's starting early this year is he not!
  10. Nothing better in the world than walking in falling snow. the world just becomes so peaceful -- love it!
  11. agree, for me just even a little snow but nice cold mornings, crisp etc - not too much to ask lol
  12. Would everyone settle for just a little snow, or is a whiteout situation that people are hoping for?
  13. Do you imagine this could have any ramifications or be a sign for the uk?
  14. As last winter was dreadfully uneventful I would have thought the media might be a bit less ready to predict Armageddon! Wonder if that'll be the case....
  15. Yeah a repeat of 09/10 would be amazing, the surprise of its arrival was the best part!
  16. Looking back at the 09 threads, LomondSnowstorm as always really did call things very well - if he gets excited about things, we all should Lol here's hoping you feel something in your water this year Lomond!
  17. As much as I love these kind of threads, and I love a bit of ramping - of course its far too early to make any kind of realistic forecast for winter. 09/10 i think is a perfect example of that. So many got it so very wrong even at close range
  18. I'm reading through that same series of threads, your so right, its a wonderful read! I think knowing how things turned out turns those threads into a really intriguing diary, like reading a favourite book again. Oh how wonderful would it be for it all to happen again!
  19. For me I prefer the cold and snow to be severe and early. The run up to Xmas when I'm preparing for some time off work is brilliant when the winter feels properly settled. I'm not really a fan of big winter events in January, then we're depressed going back to work and struggling through snow at that point to get to work just isn't as much fun suddenly lol
  20. For me its all just about the anticipation, but its nice to have a surprise like 09 or some hope that something good may come. Last year there really wasn't much hope at all, what a dreary festive period (weather wise)
  21. . Thanks for that! So great to read how Scotland fared during December 2009! Such an amazing time, the whole country it seemed was buzzing, everyone was so unprepared. How did it happen that such a huge event really wasn't predicted at all!
  22. Finding anything in the archive is really a nihhtmare! Been trying to find the winter threads from 09/10 but can't see them anywhere! Another almost autumnal day today, getting there, so glad to see the summer really starting to disappear!
  23. Oh.indeed, forecasting even short range I wouldn't bet my house on Lol I'd agree this year does "feel" different, feels like we're at least going to get s proper autumn, things do feel more like they should. Which goes for little I know, but its as accurate as a long range forecast I guess. Let's hope out water is right!
