  1. Haha im the exact same, people do tend to get upset for some reason when people start looking forward to winter - although i notice long range guesswork (which of course is what it is), seems acceptable when people look ahead to summer etc. Ah well. But yeah, ive been just lately checking for long range winter forecasts, and there are a few out there - but always better when it kicks off in here. Of course its speculation, and means nothing, but it is fun times. When generally do "those" threads appear around here?
  2. looking at the long range here on netweather, it looks like central (and a lot of areas) are in for a reeeeeally warm month. being a cold lover this is too hot for me lol are there any signs that we might get into maybe "just" the high teens soon?? cant be doing with any more warm nights!
  3. whiteout in cumbernauld - went from dry ground to lying within the hour, sky total white out -comin down nicely, best fall of the winter for this area :-) any ideas whats coming behind the band thats affecting central at the mo? more would be lovely!
  4. very heavy snow in cumbernauld, a couple of cm on the roads, a few more on the car this morning. very blustery. met office denies the fact that theres any snow here at all- chances of a prolonged event folks?
  5. god it would be good if Glasgow got some good action, are the chances good folks?
  6. agreed, in cumbie defo the best snow event so far! really is a shame it wont last, the sky still looks heavy though!
  7. labour put the world into global recession? and the tories in their years of rule played no part? think even the most fabulous tory fan would blush at that tired argument. its a popular one though, if wildly innacurate lol but alas...thats for another forum
  8. best there's been all winter for cumbie! a few cms I'd say. it's off for the mo, but was great to be out in it as it fell. hopefully more will come soon!
  9. stopped now in cumbernauld. been a pretty solid display of falling snow (mostly) all day - and only a pretty slim covering to show for it - quite surprised to see so many people running to move their cars and leaving early, it certainly doesnt warrent that - not here anyways!
  10. some lying snow in cumbie, but not falling at present. little more than a dusting though, nothing to be too excited about just yet
  11. surprising to see central and strathclyde at amber for tomz and sat on met office! not like them at all!
  12. agreed, my area of central got hee haw yet again, super dissapointing!
  13. a few showers tonight in cumbernauld, none of it stickin, sky been clear for a while, cant see anything happening tonite, or for the rest of the winter to be honest lol
  14. well the tiny amount of snow which started to lie has now gone, temps hovering around 0 and proper snow still falling. totally confused and gettin a bit fed up with it all to be honest, nae idea whats goin on
  15. snow is defo much lighter here, think itll fizzle out soon, heres hoping it picks up later again, a bit of a letdown yet again. what an infuriating winter this has been so far
  16. LS, how much longer do you think this band will be with the central area? and what are tomorrows prospects like? feel like such a lot of snowfall has been wasted up till now!
  17. just been out in the car, 0 degrees, very windy, heavy snow - and still not sticking. i get the feeling this level of fall wont be sustained much longer and the grounds just not being very accepting at all
  18. is there a danger this band will pass before the temps drop and it settles??
  19. well like everyone else, heavy snow in cumbernauld for quite some time, but not a flake of it is settling. does it look like this will be the way of things? heartbreaking to see all that snow go to waste!
  20. the met and even BBC have been pretty spot on for Cumbernauld, true this is probably as they hate to commit, fingers crossed its for the same reason, it sure does look very promising
  21. it sure does seem to be bearing down. strangely though the met has downgraded central from heavy snow to light snow showers....question is, is the radar wrong, or is the met? either is plausible... oops sorry for triple post!
  22. it sure does seem to be bearing down. strangely though the met has downgraded central from heavy snow to light snow showers....question is, is the radar wrong, or is the met? either is plausible...

  24. it does seem likely that this will actually materialise! if it doesnt then - i will cry lol
