  1. I'm going to talk in F rather than C because the local weather station doesn't report fractional degrees in C. So, coming up to midday and we have 87F (reporting 30C) with dew point 63F. The heat still building of course. A few clouds but not blocking the Sun at the moment.
  2. Estofex tend to nail the severe probabilities, and wow! at least a level 1 for most of us, Level 2 again... this could be fabulous! Just inside that level 2 here
  3. Well, my town is a notorious hot spot when it comes to heatwaves. Unofficially (we do not have an official station here for obvious UHI reasons), we equalled Gravesend temperatures (cannot remember the year) prior to that record being set. Tennis courts were melting etc.. but I was in Edinburgh at the time and never got to experience it. This morning its 23C already! Personally, and willing-on a record break aside, high 30sC is just uncomfortable when so humid, and the plants certainly don't like temps in the 90s either
  4. Local weather station (unofficial) measured 1.6cm rainfall overnight.
  5. Had a cracking storm with strobe lightning. A nice deep watering for the plants from very heavy rain. All moved away North/ NE now.
  6. We shall crave that, come Winter I'm very glad my veg has had a nice deep watering. Not every day/night you see lighting so frequent and bright that it makes you duck, so this sultry period is just marvellous.
  7. Round two starting up. Very heavy rain. So far, thunder and lightning not as intense but its definitely a cracking storm by normal standards.
  8. July 2014 is the only comparison I have.. there is more to come Chris.. we are right in the sweet spot.
  9. Wow! Yeeeheeee, that woke me up!! |Tremendous thunder and lightning.. bang, bang, bang ... and some and mega flashes, didn't get to the window in time to see forks.. that cell passed really fast though, rumbling to my North now. More lightning..
  10. Clouds aren't all that inspiring here. Looking for Ac or anything interesting but seeing Stratus at the moment. Nice Sunset colour sky though.
  11. It was on lightningmap http://www.lightningmaps.org/#m=oss;t=3;s=1;o=0;b=0.00;ts=0;d=2;dl=2;dc=0;z=7;y=51.9578;x=-1.5271; seems to have gone now. Thought it a bit random
  12. Sferic just plotted In South Wales - on the edge of Margam Country Park, SE of Port Talbot area.
  13. Sferic just plotted In South Wales - on the edge of Margam Country Park, SE of Port Talbert area.
  14. Exciting days. Touched 33C here, really looking forward to storms. Loving Estofex having us Level 2. Its probably going to be a case of pass the supercell later! I can hope At least lots of us are in with a chance.
  15. Oh good, saves me watering, shunt it up here a bit lol. Registered 33C here during the last hour.
  16. The initial area of interest seems to be heading East of Southhampton, quite sparky too, and very heavy rain... waiting for the kickoff here... not for hours yet, perhaps.
  17. Well radar indicates light rain here but even though its cloudy and humid, nothing much is falling from the sky. My area is just inside the warning area for Monday only. We shall see.
  18. You could send yours to spaceweather, Dean, they might well do a feature.
  19. Fading a bit now, sinking a bit. They were at least 40 degrees up from the horizon at around 11pm.
