So, here's something I almost forgot and also had dispelled by a very knowledgeable wx man years ago... but still have faith its true: The storm cell to my South has been moving up the Bristol Channel, when this happens, the storm gets stuck inside the Cotswold hills and keeps regenerating for hours. Interested to see if this happens (its an old family tale).

It is possible to be Sunny and stormy... storm cells like a bit of clear air between them, don't t they?

... funny how radar completely clears the rain away after noon lol. That rain forecast is either in error or, GFS is. Well, we know that home grown storms just pop up out of the blue. All to play for this afternoon.

Storm cell inching closer to me from the South. GFS thunder forecast begins in 30 mins lol.

Early daws yet. Lets see if the GFS has this. Its shown a few hours of thunder for a couple of runs, for my area - from midday.

Morning. Just about 15 minutes of lightning and thunder... not too impressive as the lightning strike rate was low. More this morning then. Cells dotted around. One to the South of me firing.

Yep, all gone North. GFS 18Z wants 5 hours of thunder storms for my area tomorrow lol. Well I will be very surprised if that comes off.

I think its going to stay intact, as per model but much further North . .. possibly hitting me... going into the Midlands. Huge ppn totals.

There is a train of cells from London and the SE pointing at me. But I'd have to stay up half the night to see if they don't just swoop to my NE.

Lightning can strike miles from a cell. edit. but if you didn't get any then I guess the station is in error
