  1. Love hearing the steric clicks. I will have to wait a little longer for my chances up here but its looking great for a lot of us.
  2. Lightning detectors usually map positive CGs. Lots of negs don't register.
  3. Well, anyway, the London storms are heading into the Midlands via Oxfordshire. Huge precip rates.
  4. Getting quite fed up with £25 per annum for Metogroup radar. Whenever anything gets interesting, ie. requiring radar, the server gets knocked out. They should spend my money on a new, bigger one. Disgraceful.
  5. The London/SE have nicked a lot of the current storms. Quite sparky over that way.
  6. There's a good storm going on West of Tiverton. .... edit, its moving West
  7. Not reached this far North so far. More to come for the South I think. Have fun.
  8. Theres a storm line running through our region. https://www.lightningmaps.org/#x=-2.9444;m=sat;r=0;t=4;s=200;o=0;b=25.40;n=0;y=50.775;z=9;d=2;dl=2;dc=0; Along with French imports that have made it across the channel.
  9. Even estofex don't have an issue with that coming here. No severe but SB storms can often have louder thunder. People will argue with that but I find its true.
  10. Historic damage to tree. Tree grows leaning. .. and a possible Crepuscular ray.
  11. Edge of anvil or... stratus... unlikely to be stratus... juicy mid layers... surface based storms at some point... only you know what you saw there.
  12. Yeah. Its a slow cooker is this one. Nantes storms going well. Just have to wait and see.
  13. There's a circulation there. Not too heavy precip just now but we've a plume I believe. Convection will commence soon... keeping an eye on it.
  14. ... yep, that rain lump is electrified. Sferic in the Channel SE of Torbay..Storms could start to develop anywhere in our region from now.
  15. .. bit of cloud moving in here now. Storms have fired in Nantes, France, and near Brest and the rain is making its way into Cornwall on forecast radar. ...
  16. I noticed the South Coast - Bournemouth - reporting 25C on Xcweather a couple of hours ago. I'm sure there will be spots with higher temps. Summer is upon us.
  17. Indeed. Quite a climb now the Sun is in charge. Temp 19C Humidity 84% Dewpoint 16C Juicy enough for a storm.
  18. The Sun has burned the cloud away. Turned into a very nice day once more.
  19. I put up a gazebo (well anchored) so I can make a cuppa and stay outside.. but out of the rain so much. And don't worry, the car (Faraday cage) will be right there if things get hairy. Looking forward to it.
  20. I'm usually too enamoured to think of taking photos. Better for me if I catch a video of the storm. Built up locations are not always bad for photography, just need to get lucky and have a relatively overhead storm, the lightning contrasting with buildings often makes for dramatic pictures.
