  1. not making it into west sussex though nick, as has been the case pretty much all week.
  2. sadly, during this whole cold spell, despite every surrounding county getting at least a decent covering, i haven't as yet had enough snow to build a snowman. even as i sit here under an amber warning, it still doesn't look like i will.
  3. i cant see that much getting here. its skillfully avoided horsham so far... would be nice though!
  4. mate, i can guarantee you we had freezing drizzle this morning for around 10 mins. it froze to my windscreen.
  5. wrong. this morning about 9.30, i was driving down the dual carriageway and the car was still warming up, the snow turned to drizzle for about 10 mins and it froze to the windscreen instantly.
  6. people trapped in snowdrifts here, the police have had to call in batman for help-
  7. as soon as it enters crawley it gets nicked. thats why we've got none in horsham. i'm going to phone the police and have crawley arrested.
  8. you wouldn't be being selfish! all those of us who have missed out would get some, along with those who already have! win-win!!
  9. whilst that looks good, look further on- lunchtime- evening- lets hope the hirlam is bang on!
  10. as i look out of the window at the snowless ground, i've just found out its snowing heavily in st. ives in cornwall!!
  11. well its probably just as well it hasnt snowed here. apparently, according to a snippet i heard on the radio, i would have had to have built a snow-gender-neutral-person!! GRRRRR....!!!
  12. i'd better get out and build a snow-ant before it all melts. must have got at least 0.1cm overnight....
  13. its possible if the blob over ashford now, makes it to you. i doubt it will be as intense by the time it reaches brighton area but if it does, it will stick around until morning due to the low temps. just watch the radar and try to gauge the intensity as it moves towards you
  14. i'm holbrook area. almost all the snow had melted by lunchtime and that last short shower turned everything white again! a couple of those heavy showers heading in from the north sea might have our name on them!
  15. well that shower we just had (which was pretty intense) originated in the thames estuary and there's more on the way.
  16. i've got the sense to know that snow forecasts are never set in stone and that some areas get more than others. of course i would have preferred more snow but i'm saying that this spell hasnt delivered the potential it could have. if it had, many more of us would have had several inches than we got. anyway, as i said, its not over yet and its snowing here again as i type...
  17. to be fair, while some favoured areas have had decent snowfall, region-wise, most of us have only had minimal snow. the "beast" hasn't delivered anywhere near the potential it had. however, thats no-ones fault, its just the way it is. some have mocked others because they predicted a hell of a lot more snow and it didnt happen, which is unfair because the charts were showing it. if anything, it just shows how difficult snow is to predict. i should add- its not over yet...
