    Currently heavy snow in Shetland. Approx 2cms fallen in the last hr. Very thick with visibility in the tens of yards. Update: as at 1925 there is 5cms of lying snow here in Shetland.

    Blizzard conditions here in Shetland at the moment, about 2 cms come down in the last hour. Just drove back from Lerwick had to take it very easy, visibility right down and heavy, driving snow with huge flakes!

    Cloudy with occasional brighter spells and very cold. Very light dusting of snow this morning but nothing since.

    Nothing much to speak of here today except very cold! Expecting some snow overnight tonight and potentially some heavy snow tomorrow afternoon and overnight into Tuesday.

    Afternoon A tad windy up here last night and this morning! My top gust was at 0825 this morning - 65.7kts = 72.3mph Turning colder again now, temp is 5.2C, dp is 2.2C and still windy, gusting to 41kts.

    Really windy here last night and this morning. My top gust was at 0825 this morning of 65.7kts = 72.27mph. The Met Office observatory in Lerwick recorded 75mph at the same time. Turned colder now with temps and dew point dropping.

    A real wintry mix during the day of rain, sleet and wet snow. Turned more to rain now as temps have risen and the wind increases from the SW. However, I expect it to quickly turn wintry again here tomorrow after lunch time and it looks like there could be a few cms of snow overnight into Monday

    I think I might well see the kitchen sink up here over the weekend! Turning back to rain and strong winds tomorrow with severe gales or even storm force winds for Saturday, turning back to snow on Sunday. Gotta love this weather lol
