Things are really stormy here in Derry now. Throughout N.Ireland there is 24,000 homes without power and roads are blocked with fallen trees. Have a read about it here..... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/7835379.stm

Currently very stormy here in Derry N.Ireland. Its going to be a wild night. Hoping to get some snow in the next couple of days to. Exciting times ahead well if the forecast is right.

These showers that occured earlier were mainly rain and sleet. As you say the temp went up to 4c but it has now dropped again to 1. The snow that we had this morning is still lying. Its not much but i think that any showers tonight could be of snow and there could be a few surprises in store for some people. The showers seem to be very localised.

Good morning everybody. Had a hard frost during the night. It has started snowing in the past 15 mins and it is settling nicely as tyhe ground is frozen. Our first snow of the winter. I'm in Derry N.Ireland. Can anybody tell me by looking at the radars if these showers are going to last?

Just started snowing here in Derry in N'Ireland. The wind has fairly picked up and it's blowing round everywhere. Bring it on!! -
After thinking that it wasn't even going to snow where i live in Derry in Northern Ireland. It has been snowing steadily and heavy here for the past hour and a half. We have about an inch and a half now. It wasn't even forecast!!!

Very haevy snow here in Derry N.Ireland. Couldn't have wished for any better than this!

I live in the NW of N.Ireland. there was no snow forecast for us. Just freezing temperatures. We now have nearly 2 inches of snow. A total surprise. The only snow that we were expecting was some time tommorow we the breakdown from cold to mild begins. It would be nice if this winter throws up another few surprises like this!!
