  1. It’s these short waves that always scupper the easterlies. We have been here many times and counted down to within the reliable only to see Europe go into the freezer with heavy snow and the British isles to get the dregs.
  2. Like everything depending on wind and how fast this feature is moving it could be morning to /lunchtime.
  3. You want a slight north east correction but not by 100 miles as once again midlands will get the most out of this feature. I would say 50 miles and it could be all good for you.
  4. No it's seems for those southeast it's always daytime when everything is just hovering above the isotherm. I count myself lucky with regards to the snow today very rare in my location. Always to the east or to the west by about 30 miles lol. So I have had my snow fix had a snowball fight with my son and daughter and now can't wait for it to dry out
  5. His saying should know by tomorrow. But isn't it meant to be through tomorrow that those that got rain today would get lucky and also be in the game for some snow on the south east coast. Many of us have been really lucky including myself. That have had plenty of snow. So I'm hoping the next feature goes to those that didn't get any.
  6. Look on the met o forecast as my location in huntingdon has gone from being on amber till 1600. Now it has updated it says snow right through Sunday into Monday. Not sure what is going on. I'm still in the amber from the warning this morning.
  7. Well I dont know what BBC weather app is doing but it's got me down for 17 hrs of snow. ?
  8. Monday is looking good for biggin some heavy snow for your location.
  9. My best snow is when a streamer sets up in the wash on a n/e wind to drive it inland. I am approx 70 miles away so it's hard to get snow in my location. Where as Peterborough is more towards the East Midlands. I have seem many a time the snow gets them but I get jaffa cakesy rain./sleet. I lived I march for 6 years and I got endless snow showers and I think it was 2001 2002 that we had a few feet of snow. The a14 ground to a holt. My other half was out there all night trying to get through with the gritter. He had been up and down gritting sine 3pm. And even though he was out 24 hrs they got an ear full saying they hadn't been gritting. THey did but it was the public that ignored the warnings and still decided to drive in the heavy snow. AT A SNAILS PACE. This in turn slowed traffic to a stand still. And this is where the problem lays. The gritt has to be driven over for it to crush and melt the snow and ice. But drivers panicked as they couldn't see due to the heavy snow falling. I hold my hate off to all the gritter drivers as the cold winter months are long work hours and sod all sleep.
  10. It is meant to pivot and go through Norfolk. I think all this shifting south are the models working out the track but I think the met o warning this morning is where it is going to be. With a slight shift in either direction but a 20/30 miles max. They have had most in yellow warning including myself since Thursday with Peterborough only 25 miles above me on an amber. Then it changed this morning to include Cambridgeshire. I might be wrong but I think the track will be the same almost as this ornings warning. The reason behind this is that they have been sitting on the fence before dishing out the warnings. Unlike in 2010 when I was issued heavy snow days before hand and 6 hours before the event I got nothing not even a flake London got dumped on. I hate an easterly as it misses my location and it's bloody freezing cold and dry. I do better on a north north east.
  11. I'm a little further down then you around 25 miles so like you not wanting another shift south. Would like an east correction. But it does pivot and I think that is when the warm front comes into play. Just seen the BBC weather and our area has heavy snow until late in the afternoon when it pivots. So a shift east would keep us under the snow
  12. I was born in Walthamstow" moved years ago to east anglia but still travel to London as have many family members all around London and into Kent.
  13. Well met o update puts a few more places in the amber warning ! Yesterday I was just outside the area by 20 miles and now I'm in the area about 20-25 miles. So further south the yellow warning has been extended. Good luck to you all
  14. Thank you. And it's good to see you posting back in this thread.

  16. Hi, TEITS . Am I right in that this heavy rain moving inland was not shown . And also that with temp and Dp to rise we are in for a rather wet day. Chears.
  17. Well after yesterday's rain, and a bit of sleet we now have heavy snow. Something that is hard to achieve in this area.
  18. Well can say it's raining but looks to have a few wisps of snow in the mix here. Think further east , and south should have more snow mixed in as you have more hours of ppn. Been raining here since around 2 pm
  19. Had a quick snow shower here, wasn't expecting anything in this location.
  20. Well , some who have waited all winter may get their chance of seeing some snow. Think the best place would be the usual areas. : Kent , Norfolk , Ipswich , Essex , Sussex. Hertfordshire and if the North Sea picks up enough convention then London outer should also see snow falling. If like me you are north west of east Anglian then it will be a frosty dry night our areas do not fair in this set up as we are to high north and to west for showers to reach. For areas further west the best you can hope is for a streamer to set up from the wash and travel inland. Goid luck to all us lowland folk who have sat back while further north have had a taste of winter already this season.
  21. Hi all I don't post much, but at the moment models are flip flopping due to storm Alex. No matter how much you analyse each model run until we get storm Alex upon us and how it interacts with the Azores and the low , models will keep flip flopping. So sit back and enjoy the roller coaster ride.
