Really quiet in Newcastle! Bit breezy!

Is it just me or do the gusts just come from absolutely nowhere? It was calm as anything then of all sudden BOOM. Newcastle Upon Tyne

Not bad here just outside of Newcastle. When are winds forecast to pick up here?

Is there now a chance of NE ENG being hit by the storm? heard a few mentions of warnings being upgraded

I sort of think those gusts are a bit underestimated. I have a feeling for a short time at least we will get some strong winds as the low moves away. Just sayin', I'm no expert. Thanks Jo!

But the MO has a yellow warning for wind... I heard that the wind would be strong as the low exits the North Sea...

So can someone please tell me : Snow for NE England at the end of this week... on or off? Also, does it look like the Atlantic will be in charge for a long time or just a few days?

Ive been following this topic and the previous discussions since the "beast from the east" was first thrown into the mix, my initial reaction was I was totally taken in, but then a few days after the general concensus seemed to be that it was "game over." However, I have always believed that there would be a chance of it returning, or atleast something simimar based on the fact that the charts went from an extreme cold outlook to a very mild outlook within a matter of days. I agree totally with the last few posts, looks very interesting!
