  1. Woken up to a surprise dusting of snow. Temp now 0.4c, so won't last long
  2. Snowing quite well here, would say a 6/7. Temp -0.1c. Grass has a good covering. This is the heaviest we have seen in this cold spell
  3. Temperature has been fluctuating a little between -0.7c and -0.3c, currently -0.5c. Snow seems to be picking up in intensity again, and the wind has also picked up. Got a nice covering on roads and pavements and the grass has developed white patches. It's nothing like January, but I'll take it.
  4. Wow, sudden heavier outburst. We now have snow blowing off the roof and settling on all surfaces. Will be all white soon, this is happening much quicker than expected.
  5. snowing nicely here. As ground is cold and very dry, it is settling immediately. Roads have a dusting on them -0.7c.
  6. Ok, I am at height, and in NW Kent, so according to various models, we are going to be in a sweet spot for snow. It is -0.5c here, and not a snowflake in sight. I don't see where it is going to come from? Dp's are so low....what is expected to change that will start the snowfall?
  7. Out with the dog now and we have snow grains on the wind. It would take until Christmas to get a dusting
  8. Just got back from Dubai. Still a couple of inches of snow on the ground, and temperature is around freezing. Cold weather seems to have messed up my internet, so still trying to get my thermometer up and running (it's a Netatmo, goes via internet). I understand that there may be more snow today before it all disappears. Just driven round from Gatwick, nothing on the ground there, although a noticeable line around 50-100m asl, then up here still lots of snow on trees and no dripping. Amazing what a bit of altitude can do. This has been a very good winter for us, lying snow for about 2 weeks in total.
  9. http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/kent/trafficcameras/highwaysagency/14005 Settling well
  10. On m25 j5-6, can see a snow line about 50m above, looking towards biggin hill, very cool
  11. Altitude makes all the difference, when u left home there was a covering on the road, now at j5-6 it's not even settled on grass
  12. On my way now to LGW, hoping that flight will get cancelled, heading for Dubai where it will be 28c. Heavy snow on M25 j4-5
  13. http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/kent/trafficcameras/highwaysagency/14005 This is close to me, but we are a bit higher. Coming down well, settling on everything apart from road
  14. Wet sleety rain and the odd big flake, leaving splodges on the windscreen
