  1. I'd compare it to a smear of Clover in your sandwich! I'd need an electro microscope to measure the depth! I've a sneaky feeling you've kicked a goal in! CD
  2. Urban Dictionary: goofus Someone who engages in inappropriate, silly, or dumb behavior
  3. Lol, nothing typical about this Essex girl!! My grammar is fine, didn't want to embarrass myself somewhere down the line by saying "Oh, you are from La Minge, are you?" or "How's things in Me O Pham?" CD ps Thanks to all helped me out with the pronunication
  4. Two locations I see on here often make me wonder how they are pronounced: Lyminge and Meopham, anyone able to enlighten me? CD
  5. My kids left there decades ago! My daughter was born in November 1981, I remember there being record levels of cold at the time! I was too hot in the delivery room so opened all the windows, midwife was not happy! Lol @ Paul S, I remember The Maze as a building site, I think there used to be a snooker club on the corner!! Blimey, too long in the tooth here! CD
  6. There are several roofs remarkably free of snow around here. Lack of insulation or rather more nefarious activities going on in those lofts? CD
  7. There was no further accumulation overnight, in fact there was a bit of a thaw early this morning, but things are changing here, temperature is dropping, and there are tiny grains of snow falling, no more sleet! Last night I let the cats out onto the balcony to investigate the snow, two of them (the eldest two) absolutely not interested, one of them sniffed at it, not particularly bothered, the other one, she sat down in it and was most reluctant to come in. Never seen a cat voluntarily sit in snow before! Strange animal! CD
  8. It is very dark here, ominous even! Something flying around in the breeze, but I gotta say, it looks very much like sleet! No no no no no! How's things at your end of the river, Shrimper? CD
  9. It has been snowing lightly here for hours, but doesn't seem to accumulate, I am not sure that I can measure the dusting we've had! Currently much larger flakes falling, but not anything coin sized! Temperature is falling now at +0.1. CD
  10. Still snowing here, but I'm becoming convinced that it's the same bunch of snowflakes just whirling around in the breeze! Temperature is slowly rising, +0.2 here atm. Going for a nap, can't take the pace. Hopefully I'll be woken by a dull whoomph, that'll be 8cms of snow falling on this location! CD
  11. Just another reason for me to hate this god-forsaken place! CD
  12. Oh er, snow is definitely getting heavier and the breeze is stronger too, road is starting to turn white! CD
  13. It's just got to snow in Southend, Mum simply won't believe me if I tell her I'm snowed in at South Ockendon and won't be visiting tomorrow! CD
  14. Yes, I looked at them at some disgraceful hour this morning! Stunning piccies! Yesterday was a lovely day for a walk there, wouldn't attempt it today though! CD
  15. Did your snow gauge get reposted, Steve. Snowfall is slightly heavier here! Yay! CD
  16. very light snowing falling here! Quick question: Where the sun didnt thaw the frost yesterday, it has stayed put, but there hasnt been any more frost overnight. Why would that be? CD
  17. Heck, that's almost Churchillian! Morning peeps! -2 here, very light snow falling. I thought it odd that where it stayed frosted all day yesterday is still frosted this morning, yet no frost elsewhere. Would it be possible for MKS to cut and paste Steve Murrs' snow gauge in her opening post, so it's easy to refer back to?
  18. Yes, much the same here, sun sits behind the trees out the back for much of the day, so in shadow, and of course the building casts a long shadow out the front too. CD
