  1. Best page of comments i have ever read on the site. why? Because anyone who has ever followed/ remembered my posts on the site over the years will remember me discussing these exact comments mentioned here about the Euro slug, Azores / Iberian highs and powerful effects these have on our weather over the years and the effects in our winter this offsetting much of the Teleconetics . So to see this discussed for me is so interesting because I’m 100% believe that our local High pressures do have huge affects on our weather . Great points All of you , especially( Mountain, Kasim, Nick) .
  2. Hi mate, Well I can reciprocate back to you too that yours should be framed. Absolutely so, she was my best friend, my soulmate, The one person who fully knows my life and so supportive. We would often have such a good laugh together as well as that was so important. she was also my occasional sledge buddy too when I was younger, and I’ll never forget the complete stranger that came up once and said I’ll give you a push luv and she said no no no I’m okay, he did give her a push and her face at the bottom is a picture of pure glee and a huge rush of adrenaline. I Will remain strong and positive for my son as I had always done for mum and my dad through the numerous serious health problems over the last six seven years as i was there 24 /7 whenever needed for all of the support emotional or health. i’m also extremely grateful and whilst it feels that she was taken far too early I’m grateful and thankful to have had such great memories with her many of which I captured on camera and sometimes video and so glad I did. There are people in the world really suffering right now in worse circumstances and I consider myself lucky to a point that we weren’t in their shoes. Mum and I were also saying how lucky that she had not had dementia as I had helped a dementia sufferer before and that was terrible ,so again something else to be fortunate and thankful about. no time is the right time to go but I have to focus on the memories the positives despite the heartache and disbelief of passing which takes time to process The reality. I am a fan of the cold and the snow especially so thank you for the early gift of potential colder charts. And I truly wish things improve for you I really do.
  3. Hi Matt, I'm sorry you’re not having the best of times. I share your pain, my mum just passed away three weeks ago just before her birthday ( no words to describe the pain/ loss sadness) , I’m ill and my boy has scarlotte fever . i hope you’re situation improves Matt.
  4. Hi Penrith, I know exactly what you mean. I think the problem is when you have such strong either, Azores high or euro slug they often win out against any cold potential northerlies. What we need is for these areas to be weaker/ retrograde to allow a northern push with a good extent southward and to hold. Of course at this conjecture things could still change as it’s still F1
  5. I didn't. I just thought it was summer stagnant smog haze air days as i dont see that in the winter with smog/haze.
  6. Apologies for my typo. blimey I did not know that that 2 miles down the road from you there was nothing I do know down at Salisbury and downtown they were having rain when we were having quite a bit of snow so strange how it can be so localised
  7. Starting to rain here in Frome not sure if that will freeze straight away going onto frozen surfaces though could be quite tricky
  8. Hi mate, completely agree with you. I just can’t believe that after I de-iced the car within the space of an hour everything would be frozen up again and I have to scrape it again. Definitely the coldest since 2010 for this time of year. I think we’re also helped us with the snow sticking around for so long was the fact that was such an intense hoarfrost the night before with very low nighttime minima. quite often when we get snow it will settle on relatively warm ground and sometimes on top of rain that has been before and then within a day or two it would’ve all have melted. we probably had about an inch and a half of snow here but I know local snow depth vary greatly for example Andy Brown reported 3 inches over at Warminster. at least now steps are not that deep compared to 2007 2008 2009 2010 2018 and I think was 2012 or 13 and yet the snow has stuck around for quite a long time. Great start to the winter season for cold and snow lovers.
  9. Complete reversal on gfs latest run, brings deep cold back in within a few days after the mild blip. Mind you these charts flip flop soo much at the moment.
  10. Me too. i have captured over 90ufo sightings on camera , some solo like the clip but also fleets from four up to 70 ( not birds or planes) invisible to the naked eye and no sound and out of this world flight manouvers I have also experienced the paranormal too. Couldnt are with you more. I don’t know why the BBC weather forecast is on TV quite often at the end say don’t forget to keep up-to-date with the BBC weather app. And it’s not just a BBC one quite a lot of them are not that reliable I don’t see the point of them really.
  11. Thank you Khodds for your feedback. Mine did the opposite and after being stationary for a few minutes it then rose upwards very slowly. Sounds really interesting what you saw. i spoke to dog walkers who saw several like this moving fast zig zagging in the daytime.
  12. This was just a snippet of the footage. It was there for over 5 minutes. i wrote out a post too. If you check your notifications you can see my write up about it too. I filmed this using IR although this particular sighting was visible in the visible spectrum unlike other ones i have filmed which were only visible in the IR field of view. IMG_3637.MOV
  13. Hi Khodds, just wondered if you saw the clip i posted to you recently and if it was similar to what you saw?
  14. Well done for saying it. i have to thank you for your name choice. I have been going through an exceptionally hard time recently and still am , coming in to the threads just helps my mind wonder off from the extreme stress. So when i see your name it brings a welcome smile . Very witty with your name.
  15. I thought that too. also, someone mentioned earlier that doubt the weekends rain will stuggle to come in against the cold air!! I agree.
  16. Hi Jay, that’s a good point and I’ve noticed that sometimes when moisture starts to hit cold air why is it that sometimes it does fizzle out ? For example if we had mild weather and that lot was coming in from the Southwest it was just come right over the region and beyond .
  17. Mass of rain off SW as that comes inland it should be snow. Anyone care to guess how much we could get from this?
  18. Snap ( apart from the snowman , several dotted about the hill and a massive one on top ) just come back from Cley Hill found a really good sledge run almost from the top of it to about halfway down . Will now drive back to check out whatcombe hill as Fromey reported heavy snow as I was leaving earlier.
  19. Ironically just saw this while leaving frome to head to longleat festival of light. Longleat shut and hardly any snow falling up here where normally theres always more up there.
  20. Can’t quite understand how barely anything showing on the radar and yet the snow here is really heavy completely unexpected. IMG_3666.MOV
  21. Amazing frost last night after the game that actually looked like a covering of snow! Then this morning some light snow with big flakes. Stopped now though.
