  5. had 2-3 rumbles of thunder about 1am and then the power went off. finally came back on about 11am. Had the odd rumble of thunder every now and again. Currently gusting to about 45 mph although the gusts last night were nearer 60-70 mph.
  6. torrential rain and 30-40 mph gusts couple of rumbles of thunder around 6-7 am
  7. torrential rain all night and day, a few rumbles dotted around throughout other than that. not much activity
  8. Can I just remind everyone that if they are regular "chasers" that there's a list of people here who are willing to go chasing with you. it's great going with someone else as i've proved with me an major T as he's got pics from the same storm that I missed cus the camera was the wrong way. also it's great having another person to keep an eye on things while your driving and also (if you lucky) to keep an eye on your gps ma (or if you "normal" ) your direction and signs etc. If you're interested stick your name down here and i'll add you to the list on the first page. http://www.net-weather.co.uk/forum/viewtop...t=8478&start=16 thnx
  9. had 4-5 rumbles and flashes this morning other than that.. sod all atm
  10. wahey... nice storm this a way. torrential rain thunder, dunno about lightning cant go out. waiting for delivery.
  11. had one here earlir on apparantly... the missus got stuck in it (bout time she had a bath )..... I was in bed where all sane people are @ 11am
  12. yea, I saw a funnel cloud or at least what looked like one, there was rotation within the storm previous to that and in the same area but that was a good hour or so before I saw it. I dont think it was a true FC as I was quite a distance away. I should have it sumwhere on tape so i'll see if i can dig it out. as I say, I doubt it was an FC but you never know. But as an aside, i'd just like to (on behalf of all of us) thank paul for the sterling forum whoring he does to get these reports collated
  13. had a great view the other day... nice 3 storm series. loads of flashes/rumbles and tons of hail and rain

  15. nothing here atm Loads of strikes of hte NE coast of scotland and out in the North sea
  16. 3 storms for me, god knows how many rumbles and strikes, I lost count of the strikes after 15. I was getting a good 7-10 strikes a minute at the peak
  17. ok, I had the best one couldnt get it on cam tho wasnt to hand. Had a storm cell moving in (last load of pics @ http://photobucket.com/albums/v437/UKThund...-08-04/?start=0 ) was very slow moving you could see the convection going. Me and my radio Amateur Group were in the middle of aerial testing when this hapened.... BOOM there was a IC/CG combo strike right in front of us... it had to have been at least a mile long. I had an awesome light show up here, couldnt have been in a better place. awesome shots as you can see. I had CG striking the ground not a mil in front of me, my hair (and for those that have seen me, it's long...) was standing on end, you could just feel the static in the air. there were three or four strikes at very close range and we then decided to make for the relative safety of the car. but I couldnt have asked for a more spectacular show of natures power, I just hope I got some of them on camera.
  18. yea and I chased all of them so far i'm up to about 15 rumbles and about 13 local strikes... The biggest one was about 500 yards away taking out the substation. All in all a very good day
  19. Just had a nice big strike about 500 yards from the house... looks like it may have hit around the sub station, as all our power is off at the minute, i'm writing this on dialup on the laptop atm. currently getting about 5 strikes every 2 minutes
  20. There could be something to report later on , and here's the thread to do it :BIG:
  21. well paul... you can add about 25 flashes and rumbles for me and major tarantino, we got about 4 storms in total and the most impressive was just as we were about to go home... in fact we were almost @ steves house and i said "Let's go there's nothing else" just as i said that there was a great big CG to the right of us.. I quickly turned around the car and went back to a couple of nice spots around rotheram and we were treated to an awesome light show, most of which we got on tape/film etc... in all we got about 3 hours worth of footage and I have to go thru it all
