  1. Really ? Definitely moderate snow here..well small flakes falling with medium intensity.
  2. Yeah i checked my own thermometer was closer to zero than the one I use off the net. Unfortunately the precip is showing signs of fairly quick breakup now. Definitely still enough weight behind it to hopefully make it here with hopefully enough precipitation to give us a 'pretty' 5mm coating I'd be really happy to just see a few decent flakes to be honest. edit: ITS SNOWING ! Yes people its snowing in Leicester ! Albeit lightly, but undeniabley snowing ! :D I even have video evidence to prove it.
  3. Welll it seems to be holding together quite well, just 50 miles until it reaches here! about an hour and 20 minutes away, just has to stay together and be cold enough and im set I have my camcorder mounted up outside to record the sunrise and any potential snow fall (Videography is a second hobby), just hope the poor thing doesn't turn into an icecube! sure is chilly outside Oh god temp is rising by 1c an hour.. already 1.4c in leicester
  4. Can see you got it good on the radar.. jealous. So annoying by the time it gets here it's going to be rain because it'll be 2 or 3c
  5. Yeah unfortunately streamers have a really nasty habbit of dieing out really quick, despite seeming to quite intense! they just vanish out of nowhere.
  6. Yep nottingham looks well inline with this load of precip. Likeing this new V6 Radar Beta Dewpoint readings should be fine, -2.6c dewpoint and -1.4c wet bulb here.
  7. Yeah it's looking intense, holding together well, just not the right direction ! The bulk is going north, and then theres a little precip underneeth it, but thats going too far south!
  8. Downgrade of todays streamer courtesty of the 00z NAE, GFS. Anyone surprised ? edit: NMM still holding on it to it being more intense actually.. though still north, derby notts even up to sheffield the fireing line if makes itself this far inland.
  9. Snow later this morning...? I doubt it. If your talking about that streamer, it'll be rain most likely. Looks like it's a little north of my area anyway. NAE only says its 1 or 2mm of precip anyway. Highly doubt that will reach this far inland.
  10. Looking out my window here in Leicestershire, soaking wet and piddling with rain. Not surprised. It basicly has to be one extreme event for leicester to get snow, e.g. -5c and -10c uppers with a godly amount of precip coming in from the sea for even a chance that we see snow here. All these fairly weak amounts of precip never do well when they get to us.
  11. Nice camera ! Incredibley jealous. Unlike most drivers I find snow particularly fun to drive in, as long as i'm not in town or on the motorway.
  12. Uhh well this sucks for Leicester as usual. On the plus side where i'm going skiing has 100cm of fresh snow over the past day. Pretty similar too the amounts we got here really
  13. The more intense stuff does look on track to hit you.. though it should be on a south east movement. I think only the light stuff will skim past me. Although this doesn't appear to be predicted in the models so a little confused as to what happens to it to be honest. Just noticed a band of rain intensify out of nowhere, too late though it's well past us but still interesting, perhaps a sign of stuff to come. Look at the radar at about 2:10am at the band east of Leicester across peterborough. As you head towards 3am you can see it intensify.
  14. The funny thing is it was quite a big upgrade on the 18z today especially for east midlands. All failed only 6 hours to go. That said NAE and NMM have most the precipitation intensifiying around 6am and after.. will have to see what happens. Personally I can't see how but then I don't know much. I have no chance then! 2.4c air, 1.8c wet bulb, 0.9c dew point.
  15. Yep Precipitation way overestimated. Actually GFS did pretty well at the spread and estimating the light amounts of precip..
  16. Sleety rain finally picked up in intensity so you can see and hear it with the window open. Still would only consider it light to moderate.
  17. Much warmer here than it is for you guys. 2.6C and 2.0C Wet bulb, 1.1C Dew Point
  18. Congrats. Hope it heads eastwards into Leicester. Though judging by the radar track the heavy stuff looks set to go just south of us.. as always.
  19. Seems pretty well founded from looking out my window Dismally weak sub mm particles of rain for the past 2 hours, no sign of it strenghening either. Still having fun watching the radar though, hope your right about the snow over mode the midlands.
  20. Just me or have to models way over estimated precipitation amounts ? a lot of people are reporting nothing but very light rain and sleet. Even 1mm accumalated would be impossible at this rate.
  21. Picked up a tiny bit, still very light. It could snow like this all night and you wouldn't be able to tell in the morning. 1mm size flakes. I say snow, it's probably a mix of rain/sleet/snow. It's definitely blowing around a little like snow tends to do, wheras rain just falls straight.
  22. Extremely fine sleet/snow here. Literally, you have to shine a torch out the window for about 30 seconds before you realise the stuffs falling, its blowing up and around so i guess it must be fairly snowy. 97m ASL.
  23. Never thought i'd say this but i'd actually be happy with rain right now.
