The thaw continued for most of the night until it dropped below freezing at 3:30am
Temp currently -0.5C dp -2.1C
Snizzle falling giving a dusting on all surfaces
Some parts of Stoke have quite high elevation. With temps around 2C and dew points at or slightly above freezing it will certainly be marginal for those under 100/150m
Just to add to my previous post - +2C with dp +0.2
If the ppn does make it this far then I expect a sleety mix at best at modest elevations, wet snow if there is any heavy ppn. I doubt I'll be staying up to find out.
Good evening
Temp on the rise here after dropping to -0.5C earlier up to 0.8C now as the cloud has spread in.
Still lots of lying snow, not much of a thaw today compared to yesterday.
The breeze blowing the light snow that's falling seems to be from the West, so might explain why the temps and dp's are rising so sharply.
I'm going to head out for a walk before the thaw kicks in
Certainly a slight thaw taking place with snow falling from the trees and sliding of the cars with the temp still rising and at 1.7C now.
Still have light snow falling but not sure for how much longer looking at the radar?
Snow is a lot lighter than it has been for the last 2 hrs, flakes have got very small but still quite intense
Looks like it could be clearing from the South soon?
Temp up to 1C and dp also above freezing just at 0.2C
Still moderate snow and 8cm so far. Can we get to 10cm radar shows some lighter stuff heading this way?
If it carries on like it is now for another couple of hours we could reach 10cm. Just took a measure on the patio table which had 1 or 2cm from Fridays snow, so around 7cm so far
