ah sounds like I'm going to have to be lucky then. Disappointing yet at the same time impressive for the end of march.i dunno immediate south of the region around the mersey

Is the band likely to reach Wigan? I still don't know whether we're considered the south of the region or not.

Just as I have got to get some sleep..Looks like heavy precipitation setting up now from the west & the south, if this stalls its going to be good. About 2cm of cover here on all surfaces at the moment. Its about to get interesting.

With it not really accumulating on roads/pavements at all I think I'd take the risk. I'm not seeing where the big predicted totals (anything above 10cm) are coming from tbh, after about 4 hours of this there is barely a cm on pavements & roads.From what I've been told if dew points keep rising ever so slightly you get bigger flakes but with the chance of it becoming more marginal so not sure what I want right now.

Will the size of the flakes increase at all or are they likely to remain small but plentiful?

Picking up now, starting to settle on pavements. Looks like we're in business.

The best part was when everybody thought it was all over when it turned to sleet/rain and then a couple of hours later BOOM. That was a great night!How can I forget it lol. Was amazing

Still fine snizzle here and not sticking, the wind is violent though, if we can get heavy precipitation it could be blizzards.

It's crazy to think that we received 20cm of snow at the end of January and were delighted, when in Northern Japan they have received 5m of snow this winter. Look at the roads!

Isn't it funny what a difference 24 hours can make. 2pm yesterday vs 2pm today.

And then suddenly it started sleeting. Oh, and now back to big fat juicy flakes. The end is nigh I think though here!

It will eventually, as soon as the snow starts it's only a matter of time sadly. Hopefully we can hold onto the snow for as long as possible to get a nice amount on the ground. Fingers crossed!Hope it doesn't turn to rain as they're predicting. Still can't get my head around this weather business.

without looking at radars, it definitely looks very white and heavy.I have definately just seen some fluffy snowflakes when i was outside, the skies full of it!

Moderate snow, it pepped up a little again. Nice to see a dusting on the ground!

Ah well, I'm still feeling slightly satisfied about this winter overall after the fall a few weeks ago and the couple of falls before that. I've already had 100x as much snow as I had last winter so I suppose i'll take that!
It has been the winter unforecast surprises, major downgrades and plenty of mood swings for me!
Let's just hope there's one or two more big events before Spring kicks in.

Surely looking at the radar this can't miss us. Hope when it does arrive the flakes are larger than last night. Fivers crossed!
