Still got the sparkly diamond dandruff at the moment although it has become slightly more intense.

We've done alright. Shame all of the inconsiderate parents are now parking all over my street to pick their children up from school early, thus ruining the cover a bit.I think we've had it mate for today. We did ok though 4 inches.
It's just started snowing lightly again now.

I take it the main band should get to us now right?Light snow falling here up the road, I'm sure it will be snowing in Haydock any time now
I think the snow has mostly been blown of the roofs, rather than melted.It'd be devastating if it didn't after seeing how close it is on the radar.

It's still snowing outside. 11 hours and a bit without a long pause now.
Off to bed, once again I've given myself less than 4 hours sleep, praying we get something like the GFS!

over the last few days I've been delighted, depressed, delighted, on the verge of throwing my ipad out the window and so on. It's killing me!There are some very enthusiastic posters in this regional thread but there is just a little to much impatience to go with it from some members leading to a rollercoaster at times. It must be very confusing for casual members dropping in for a quick update! It's like game on one minute then game over two pages and 5 minutes later when some site or other updates its output. Highly entertaining but also very confusing

Can't complain though, earlier on I didn't expect to be saying that we've had over 9 hours straight of snow tonight. Let's hope we do well tomorrow with the main band, fingers crossed!Looks like the end pretty soon though, some nice big flakes still coming down albeit very light.

Yes here in Billinge north west of Wigan.
Still going in Highfield, Wigan too. About 2.5-3cm now.

Small downgrade, but it seems to keep the heavier precipitation across the region for longer than the 12z.

Been snowing lightly for about an hour now, nothing to write home about but we have a dusting.

I'm refusing to get enthusiastic about anything as whenever I do, I watch everything fade and die.
If I refuse to believe anything will fall, then maybe I won't be quite as disappointed when it doesn't.

Been lightly snowing for a good while now here in Wigan. Not sticking, just making the ground. I suppose it is our first snow of the winter though, more than we got in the whole of 2012.

I suppose if we see some extreme weather at the weekend (storms) it could be better but at the moment i don't think i can cope until late february/december 2011
All in all we have only had one proper snowfall day, quite dissapointing being honest as we had the coldest december in 100 years!!
No signs at all from the GFS either, this could be the mildest start to a year ever!! Hopefully we will see a big change in tomorrows models, i doubt it though

the band of precipitation is probably less than 20 minutes away now. We will see soon, i hope it falls as snow, even if it doesnt stay around for long

i remember someone saying if you add them up and they make less than 0, precipitation will fall as snow.
