Still very much sleet with the odd bigger flake here in Highfield. Hoping it turns soons.FINALLY we have medium sized flakes falling outside in a strong and gusty wind here in Billinge, have that Alex Deakin! My prayer to my Grandad ovbiously did the trick!

We had a summer last year?! :oThat's it for me, I'm officially throwing in the towel now.
Lets get Wednesday's downgrade out of the way and then roll on spring.
At least when we get into Summer we can look at the big greenie high and weeks of northern blocking and then say, if only these Synoptics had occurred in winter.
At least the rain is warmer in summer and extra daylight means that less lamp post watching is necessary and let's face, it can't possibly be worse than last summer.....can it.

at least you have sleet!Still heavy sleet here.. f.f.s! Might just get smashed and go to bed!

Tomorrow night looks more promising than tonight on the GFS. What are our chances?
-
At least he died doing what he loved!Neither have I
Used to have a white one but sent it out to see if it was snowing and it got run over by a snow plough.
Only kidding if any pet lovers are on line.
-
I think i'm right in saying the GFS 0z is an upgrade in terms of the precipitation amount/longevity and snow chances?
-
I wonder what Diane Oxberry has to say. No doubt anything with the word "snow" in it will be rushed through at the speed of light.
-
Sounds just like the one I had. Shame it couldn't have lasted longer! Bring on the next shower I say!Just had a major snowstorm here, horizontal snow blizzard!!! Quite warm to the touch lol....proper snow, covered car roof, and lightening again, no thunder though.
-
Whatever's falling outside is among the heaviest and most severe weather I've seen. The wind and the precip. Actually took my breath away as I stepped outside. Absolutely mental!
-
And then suddenly, blizzard with thunder and lightning. It's mental outside tonight!
Not sticking though, too warm and far too wet for that.
Ps - back to light snow now
-
Rain here at the moment with gales again. The temperature has gone up by a whole degree to 3.8°C too, not looking great.
-
All of a sudden the wind arrived.
-
Completely still here, down to 4.9°C
-
Had to force the car door open with some force earlier when I arrived at college. It's wild out there!
-
I think this may be the last one, but we've had lying snow for 10 consecutive days now.
-
Slushy, wet mess outside. I'd just rather all of the snow disappear quickly than slowly like this.

Crazy isn't it! If only we got this kind of fall last Friday in the middle of the cold spell, it's sad to see so much fall only for it to be probably gone by the next afternoon.Good 10 inches on the ground here at present, wow!
Tonight has been mind-blowingly brilliant though, a night I won't forget in a hurry.
All that's left to say is Hello Atlantic, it's been a while since we last met and goodbye cold, we should meet up again sometime in the near future!
Goodnight!

The Macclesfield-Wigan game is apparently 90% likely to go ahead. It will be a struggle getting there tomorrow though with the motorways etc.
-
The light rain has started and with that I proclaim this cold (ish) spell over! Glad it went with a memorable bang.
Around 18cm on the ground now, fantastic!
Time to watch it fade away come the morning when all the excited kids wake up now!
-
Starting to become thinner here now, I think we may be on the final strait.
-
-
This is quite astonishing. Just when i thought it was dying down, the return of the waffles occurred. I didn't think we'd have a memorable event like this for many years after December 17th 2010.

Monday's snow-woman has turned into a big round heap of snow with rounded off breasts. It's quite hilarious to look at!
