    No uppers are going to -4c here and about -2c there.

    Well this run still gives me 9c max. But 0c degree isotherm reaches 1000m in Scotland. And 528dam covers larger area. But still not enough imo.

    Yes but i'm saying that if the run VERIFIES maybe we will be able to see some snow. What would the parameters be for hill snow? -5c uppers and 528 dam?

    No I mean here not Scotland like maybe to 300m??? Although I think the max temps are little too high for that. Ideally about 7c.

    I was just thinking maybe if the run upgraded the cold spell we could see hill snow as the uppers get to -4c and the dam gets to 528dam over central scotland. hmmm

    Hmm well tbh it seems as though some of the snow has melted in Western Russia.

    I notice that between the runs the cold keeps getting pushed west and over me/rest of British isles with time. The 528dam touches central Scotland for a time which did not happen in 18z so perhaps in the 6z the 528dam will touch here. hmmmm If it verifies we may see hill snow.

    Air frost is about 12th October which looks like it is oddly going to be on time which is not what I expected.

    But it will be hard to expand any further west due to the mild air.

    Actually no. I want some autumn weather now as i'm fed up of 17c in day and 14c night. It would be nice to experience a few 6c wet days.

    Do you think that it will move the cold air westwards in time instead of being over Central Europe? What about uppers do you think that they will perhaps be colder?

    But hes right beside the sea. Them north western parts of england are pretty close to mildest winters in England. It snows here far more and is far colder. You will see this if you look at met office maps

    Well around 10th it was 10/12c then it dropped really quick to about 0c max for the 28th.

    When people say straight into winter. Do they mean 2010 style like " 15c one day then 1c the next". Or do they mean an average 6c winter?

    oh my goodness I didn't realise how cold Iceland was. I guess I am not that far away from the cold.

    We had a few feet above 200' this March. But it was still crap. What were the temp anomolies then? Any maps??

    No I don't think November will be cold maybe January. But I would not mind all 4 months average 4c highs because that would give us alot of snow. Although to get near 2010 we need about 2c high.
