Im a complete novice but have some big cells popped up over bay of biscay? Exploading into life and on a N/NE track? Could be of interest. But then again im a complete beginner! Thoughts anyone

Very milky sky here in bedford which has made the sun very hazy! Very breezy too. Is this good for later or very bad for potential storms? Im a novice and enjoy reading the forum but have trouble undersatnding all the jargon etc! Cheers SW

Hi guys/girls. been reading all posts for a few days now and very informative it is a a pleasure to be part of. I assume its looking good for Bedfordshire!!!!!. Work in Bedford live in Luton. Would be an interesting drive home I imagine looking at all the info posted! What do you reckon?

Very light snow here here nr Luton Airport. I have a gut feeling we are going to get more than we bargined for tonight/tom morn. Could be an interesting slide up the A6 to Bedford for work at 7 tomorrow!! Not sure if I have had enough now or want more!!

Mods feel free to delete if needed, but as a watcher on here for some years I find some posts very, very confusing. I get fed up reading one post saying this then the next saying complete oposite. I know its opinions and its good that some differ but sometimes it makes it so hard for someone like me ond prob others who cant read charts etc very well at all who come in here for information and interest in the weather. I do filter, where poss, who I read in depth though and I am sure these experienced posters know who they are, but some of the stuff that goes on here in time will prob push those particular posters away. This is a fantastic website and some serious time must be given by a lot of people to keep this up, I just wish there was a little more respect sometimes, from some, towards these people. Rant over. I hope in time I can get a grip on models so I can contribute a bit more to discussion.

That line of showers near the wash is something similar to what happened just before xmas and Luton got a good 4 inches from that. It looks bang on again if it holds its strength. Could be interesting!!!

Very dark to my N/E now in Luton, is it poss that we could get homegrown showers today??? as that low out east seems to be too far east at the mo.

May be wrong but does it look like on met radar a wash streamer is setting up a clump of showers look lined up!! TEITS could be heading your way!!

Im a bit conused That front near London is heading north and we all of a sudden seem to be in direct line. Is this correct or am i way off? No real warnings for bedfordshire today! We normally do ok for snow near Luton Airport.

Looks like the snow is heading north but in Luton are we too far north? Just popped out to get some money and panic buying is in full swing huge queues for petrol and no bread, milk etc left in both large supermarkets near me!! :ph34r:

Moderate snow shower here everything white now!!! Just proves cold air is here. Showers are filtering inland.

Had another 4" of fresh snow! Quite incredible. Not sure whether im pleased or not. Its been tough getting around since fri. Gritters in luton are as frequent as Hayley's Comet!! Friend was due to leave for lapland early tom with her 4yr old! Cost her a fortune and been saving for 2 yrs she is in tears as she cant even get out of luton to get to Gatwick!! So nice for some but nightmere for others!

Heavy snow since 4.00pm! Town is at standstill people leaving cars and walking home. Total chos!!! The council have a lot to answer in this cold spell. Very limited gritting and none today!! Shocking! Had another 6cm since 4 o'clock! We did well in feb and now dec. It seems for snow Luton is top dog!!!

pressing on for 8 inches now, quite incredible TBH!! Talk about a Thames streamer we have had a three counties streamer Bit of a problem though in Bedford where I teach they have very little snow and we have all this, may make not going in tomorrow interesting as will anyone at work believe me??? Still snowing even now!

Hi, I have been following the model discussion for a few years now but I still have so much trouble reading charts . I find the discussion on here over my head at times but love reading the thread. I know its a busy time right now with a potential cold snap coming but would anyone be able to help me and possibly others summerise what this chart actually shows? Bit like a quick chart lesson!!! Very wet snow in Luton now. Is this good news for further snow as I thought it would not turn to snow until at least after midnight if at all! I have a gut feeling that this will be more widespread than forcast!

Wet snow mixed in with rain here now in Luton! DP dropping, so I think we could be lucky here again. :o

Already got nearly an inch! All that hard work of clearing the road today wasted. It started as rain, turned quickly to snow. We are 160m asl and i think this will be impotant come tomorrow night! Not sure I want it or not, missed 4 days of teaching last week!!!!

Light snow in Luton/herts border. Temp 3.4, dp -1.6. thought it would be rain! Can only be good news as temp is dropping!!!
