Super angry sky over us right now, not sure how it's not raining.
-
Absolutely fantastic clouds that look stormy towards London way. I hope it will come this way.
-
Is this London stuff heading my way?
-
Great storm clouds to the North.
-
New York is actually slightly further south than we are in the UK.
The sea around the East Coast of America is also alot warmer in summer than you would find over here (22-24c), just warm enough to carry a hurricane without it completely falling apart.
In terms of your last quote, we have never been hit by a hurricane here in the UK. We have had storms with hurricane force winds but the methods of formation are completely different.
I always thought it was roughly on the same latitude.
So 1987 wasn't a hurricane as it was always made out to be?

Hi Lauren, I would say we are fortunate in this country that we have a year round storm season. Some of the best ones I have seen in recent years have been in November and February.
I suppose that's true. Perhaps 'storms more likely' would have been a better thing for me to say.

How has it managed to work it's way up to NYC?
I mean NYC is basically at the same level as the Uk so has similar weather.
Has it just used the heat from the south to fuel itself all the way up there?
Also how come we do not see hurricanes here (well very very rarely?). I would have through the gulfstream would be warm enough? No?

Had 11mm already this morning and it's still raining.
I am so disappointed with our storm season this year and it's almost at an end.
-
How dissappointing. Went from T-Storms forecast on BBC for tomorrow and Saturday to light drizzle and sunny intervals.
-
Clouds look very stormy to the North and North West, but don't know if they'll drop.
-
T-Storms forecast for Friday here by the BBC.
-
BBC is forecasting T-Storms for my area Thursday and Friday I shall take that with a pinch of salt.
-
I blame Terrorists.

A big disappointment that was, but I was expecting it.
It has been raining since the early hours but only 3mm in my rain gauge. Strange.
-
I like my sleep too much to stay up but will have the windows open and blinds only halfway down so i can see an hear it if it rolls in.
-
I have a nasty feeling my area will be left so close yet so far.

Unbelievably red skies tonight. My camera can't seem to capture just how red it is. Hopefully someone near me will get a picture
-
I will keep my fingers crossed for tonight, but I'm very doubtful.

Do I water the garden today or do we think it will rain later?
-
As ever the carrot is being dangled off the coast of France well into next week.
I'd liken it more like a fat person on a leash just out of reach of the juicy doughnut.
-
Nothing more than a bit of drizzle here.
-
Well this has all been rather dissappointing so far. Not even a drop of rain.
-
Is it going to rain here or not? That's not actually a question, more of a rhetorical one.

There is a massive anvil towards NW London way.
It will miss us again as usual.
