The likes of jane and carl haven't even seen that and I don't think they will anytime soon!
True, but people are seeming to think the SE has been a stormfest this year and it really hasn't.
-
Define 'storm'...I've had 8 thunder days iirc, yet only one of them I would count as a proper thunderstorm day (27th June)
Other than that it's been isolated to half a dozen flashes and bangs - you forget I'm used to seeing big storms EVERY year from childhood, including at LEAST one proper night time thunderstorm event in a year (common to have at least half a dozen, either overhead or watching from a distance). Seeing what I have both this year and previous several, it's soul destroying
What he said.
I wouldn't class a couple of distant flashes and rumbles as a storm.

We're good to create local storms until 6pm - still 2 hours to go
Lots of Cu building up, so who knows.
-
It is stupidly humid right now.
-
Mackerel sky here.
-
I don't think I'll see anything today and that is based solely on gut feeling!

Found this while bored and storm starved, I know it doesnt belong in here but didnt seem worth making a new thread for it seen as though we're all storm starved
I'd say the strike I filmed from El Gordo was at least that close.
-
One is feeling rather damp today.
With humidity obviously.....
-
Just melted on the walk to the shop.
-
Lovely and hot.
I can't find my suncream though.
-
We dont get these anymore
Sigh.
I remember the good old days of warning us of all nighters. Love the old school symbols.
I wouldn't be getting my hopes up this week at all to be honest.

OMG yes, the dreaded 6th August or 'Storm Saturday' as we like to call it around here!
Screw you both. No one is getting any free BBQ food now
Harry what looks pornographic, when are we looking?
-
Wasnt it August 6th that has been popular with storms in recent years, (Seriously Lauren!)?
Oh man. Our family BBQ's are epic.
-
As long as it's not stormy on Saturday 6th. That's when our annual family BBQ is.
-
When does storm season generally end here and what months tend to be the most lively?
-
Lots of big fluffy clouds here.
-
What's with the pictures of the girl?
-
Looks very stormy to my NW, looks capable of producing thunder, but none heard yet.
And the rain has started.
-
Just a normal headache then
..
Looks like all the bigger showes are going around me again.. Gloucester has an awesome storm shield these last few years.
No, it's very different headache to a normal headache. It's sort of buzzing.
-
Another storm headache. Why am i getting these if no storm is nearby?
-
That's weird, i have a thunderstorm headache, but I don't think there's one nearby.
-
What sort of dewpoints do we need to look for for stormy weather?
-
Just heard a distant boom of thunder...presumably from the north of me.
Me too!

Same thing for our area. People say the storms haven't been less, but I swear they have. We used to get at least a couple of overnight MCS every year and several more big storm days, but we haven't had that for years and years. My family used to document the storms and there has been a clear decline.
