  1. Week ahead forecast made me laugh! He said "It won't be anywhere near as cold as this weekend" I'm expecting 16 and 17°C this week then? As it has managed 11°C+ on both days.
  2. Just drizzly spells here. Most of the afternoon hasn't seen any rain. MetO/Euro4 got that one wrong. NetWx SR was spot on!
  3. With the amount of rain that has fallen here, there would be very little snow as well. lol I'm surprised they go the forecast so wrong, it was pretty evident across many charts they it wouldn't be too bad.
  4. Yep! I expect there's big differences at a smaller distance than that. Make that 25 days of double-digit maximums! I've just hit 10.2°C
  5. As I said in my previous post, it has come down to regions and even counties. I've had 24 double-digit days so far this Winter, and not made it below zero in January. My own stats show a different story - worse than last Winter.
  6. Just a small area of low pressure scraping by. Majority of models keep it across France. Some show a bit of rain for the SW and S coast, but zero convective parameters.
  7. Despite the MetO showing heavy rain for 13 hours, 6 of them have brought just 7mm. There's only been bits & pieces of rain, nothing persistent. The charts yesterday showed much of the rain missing here, and they still do. Temp: 8.7°C - Hum: 98% - Dew: 8.4°C - Bar: 1010.23hPa - Wind: Calm. Nothing convective showing up on any charts I've seen @karlos1983
  8. A few showers around today, mostly cloudy. But, it did turn sunny after 3pm. Top temp of 11.2°C Currently 10.7°C - Hum: 86% - Dew: 8.5°C - Bar: 999.39hPa - Wind: WNW @ 6mph.
  9. Going by a lot of reports across the British Isles, this Winter, it is a case of huge variation across counties, it seems. So far, my Winter average temperature is running above last year's, and running above a Met Office derived average temperature (between Bournemouth & Swanage) I haven't made it below zero in January, yet. Compared to 9 days last January. To say that this Winter is worse than last year in terms of temperatures, really is saying something. On a side note, i've recorded above average rainfall, but also above average sunshine. A very odd one, so far!
  10. I agree, unless we're lucky enough to get surface cold from it?! ie Saturday, February 4th 2012. I recorded -8.9°C and that was on a Davis Vantage Vue at 4m high. I suspect the temp would have been lower if the thermohygrometer was at the standard measuring height.
  11. Ice on the cars this morning, but no visible ground frost. A low of 1.5°C. I've still not managed to get below zero yet. I was up to 8 air frosts by this time last January. Sunny spells, but thicker cloud has now rolled in. Temp: 8.1°C - Hum: 72% - Dew: 3.3°C - Bar: 1010.90hPa - Wind: W @ 9mph.
  12. 5.2mm of rain yesterday, and another 0.6mm today. Gusts up to 43mph after midnight, before calming down. 2.3 hours of sunshine today, and it felt quite mild with a temp of 10.9 °C
  13. Don't be so hard on yourself! The same thing happens with the likes of Portland or the Needles.. Impressive gust speeds, but they're so exposed and slightly away from normal civilisation that it tends to look rather bad. 70mph+ is still noteworthy, though. However, the yellow warning seems more than adequate at the moment.
  14. But, look at observations from other stations that are around it - they are in 50's, 60's and 70's - exactly what the MetO put in their warning.
  15. Capel Curig is at an altitude of 650ft, 93mph there, isn't unusual when winds are forecast to be gusting to 70mph.
  16. Just had a barrage of 46 - 47mph gusts. My station always make me jump, as it beeps briefly when gusts are 40+mph.
  17. Not quite as windy as I thought it was going to be. Generally gusting around 30 - 35mph. The Met Office has me down for 45mph. I also noticed that they have taken a good 10mph off of the projected gusts on the 10pm update. Quite a downgrade!
  18. I emailed them about 10 years ago regarding that, and they point-blank refused. I thought it was worth another try, seeing as they are now corresponding with PWS owners. I can do the km/h to mph in my head ok, but I just can't stand seeing it when i'm viewing my own, or other people's data. A bit like 0 - 100 km/h, wtf is 0 - 62mph all about? PS: it looks like the data is now working correctly?! It is back to showing data points at 5 minute intervals again.
