  1. I'm looking forward to some gusty winds, but plenty of sunshine to be had. As I eluded to a few days back, not a bad week.. just windy.
  2. Just thought i'd post the NetWx MR model wind gust charts for Thursday: It usually has a good handle on speeds. A lot of other models tend to go a bit overboard.
  3. What makes this slightly tricky, is that the GFS shows the area of low pressure deepening as it arrives, while it's over the UK, and when it is exiting, rather than filling when it get's to our shores. A nasty little feature that occurs circa a new moon as well.
  4. GFS op run decided to leave the ensembles altogether.. Nothing particularly exciting in that bunch.
  5. It's funny you should say that, a NW wind isn't even in the forecast until late on Friday. It's all Westerlies, or West-Southwest. That's why it doesn't look particularly cold down here.
  6. I've been looking at the online forecast for here quite closely for the last few days.. if you do go by it, it doesn't look like a bad week. Temperature maximums are progged to be higher than last week and not much in the way of rain. It'll just be windy!
  7. WU is still crocked for me. I have tons of data points missing from the past few days. The data today is showing inconsistent increments of between 8 and 30 minutes, when it should be every 5 minutes.
  8. I think someone has stolen that image.. I did a search and found it on pinterest. It is Lendine in Italy, the image is quite old as well.
  9. Not quite the same as it isn't a final total, but, about the best I could manage. 12 - 384h, 6 hourly steps.
  10. Precip-type charts are a waste of time at this time frame. The NetWx-MR higher resolution charts show pretty much the same from the first image to the last image I have posted. That's just an illustration to show that the GFS precip charts are a waste of bandwidth at this stage. Not only that, it get's members hopes up because they just show wide areas with snowfall, and that just won't happen.
  11. A zero risk of any snow falling here. It's not looking all that bad to be fair, plenty of sunshine to be had next week.
  12. I caught something strange on my webcam yesterday - just spotted it via the timelapse. If I spot something, I can trawl through my pictures and I can usually work out what it was, but this, i can't. It's on two pictures, so I'll post the one before it and the one after it too. Each image is circa 14 to 15 seconds between each frame, and they are in order. It's definitely not fog, as fog looks like this: It has perplexed me!
  13. Grey and overcast all day, again. The same right now, as well. 5.2°C
  14. It depends in what you mean by South? I 100% guarantee it will not snow here. As for convective potential, a little early to speculate with great detail, but coastal fringes will be most at risk, due to colder air travelling over warmer waters. The North & West will obviously fare best. But, i'll just wait until we get in to a higher resolution time frame, then have a gander and some charts to see what's occurring!
  15. Zero chance of seeing anything snow-like down here. It's possible to get some hail thrown in to any thundery showers brought in from troughs. We had between -7 and -8C uppers for a period back in December, and it still rained. The uppers above do not look particularly special for this part of the country.
  16. Could I ask you to save the image and then upload it, rather than linking directly to the said image? All of them you have posted today, have broken the mobile pages that they're on. Also, they will not be the latest images if anyone is reading them tomorrow, or beyond.
  17. Ah I see what you mean now.. Yes, Wunderground: https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/ MetOffice WoW: http://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/ WeatherCloud: https://app.weathercloud.net/map Netatmo Map: https://weathermap.netatmo.com/
  18. I don't think so. They're both living among the best GFS charts... in fantasy land!
  19. That rain will break up considerably when it reaches here. I'll be surprised if I get 1mm from it.
  20. Turned the heating off, it was getting too warm indoors. Currently 8.5°C
  21. It's already 8.4°C down here, Frosty. Parts of the far South West are in to double figures.
