  1. It won't be until at least midnight before the colder air begins to filter in to the North and West of the region. It looks as though the center of the low is over me at the moment.
  2. The same on ITV, just a small mention of some snow over the hills, for parts of the Midlands, then a mention of a 'slippy' start to tomorrow.
  3. I'm really enjoying this wet & windy spell of weather. I went for a wonder along the Jurassic coast earlier, showers & winds were battering, but exhilarating!
  4. Merry Boxing day! https://www.warehamwx.co.uk/cumulus/ewn/forecast.php?en|6947756|GB|Mendip
  5. A fun weather day, yesterday. 12mm of rain fell, 7mm of that fell within the hour. 10 min average wind speed of 24mph, and gusts of 45mph. 4.5 °C this morning. Showery now, and 7.9 °C Nothing of interest for me during the early hours, just light rain.
  6. I always find the passage of an active cold front, interesting. The pressure went up by 1.6mb in 4 minutes as well.
  7. wow - that was a nice surprise! Just lashed down with hailstones - 83.4 mm/hr rain rate too. 10.6°C to 7.8°C in ten minutes.
  8. Gusting to 45mph here at the moment. I think someone close by has lost some roof tiles. It won't be long before the cold front crosses, and the winds die almost instantly.
  9. It's getting rougher now - gusting above 30mph. A few showery bits & pieces of rain in the mix as well.
  10. It hasn't been particularly cold here, 13 double-digit maximums. Only two cold days. My average is at 6.2°C that's 0.2°C above the MetO derived average for this area.
  11. Already gusting to 30mph here. It's woken me up because I left the windows wide open. Perhaps some 50's in the evening?
  12. Hello! Merry Christmas everyone. Dad's funeral was on Friday, it all went well. In fact, I felt extremely comfortable with the whole thing, seeing as I don't have a religious bone in me. It's made me rather philosophical of late. Anyway, still a sad time, but I feel a huge weight has been removed from my shoulders - a sense of relief that my dad is no longer in pain, and that we can both relax, now. It's funny how boring the weather has been and yet I haven't really paid much attention to it. I'm looking forward to some rain and wind though, and some walking trips down to the coast in the said conditions. I hope you get your station @Dorsetbred I bought myself a new phone last week, so that's my present to myself.
  13. Hi Things not good here at the moment, so busy with funeral arrangements for my dad that i've not even paid attention to what the weather has been like. I've finally got an hour to myself to pop online and see what's happening!? re the Davis Vantage Vue - it is a nice station, but there's also a few drawbacks. The all-in-one array means you'll have to sacrifice one of two measurements, either wind or temperature. If you want good wind measurements, you'll need it placed at a decent height, but you will lose temperature accuracy by quite a margin. The same will happen with wind measurements if you set your station's height to around 1.5m for a better temperature accuracy. The other thing to point out, if you want your data online, you'll need the data logger with weatherlink. You're looking at £179.90 for that - that's the cheapest I can find, on eBay. I don't know why, but it has gone up in price over the years. You may be able to find one cheaper, but second hand. I hope everybody is well?! I'll try to post when I can, but you can imagine how busy I am, even more so due to it being close to Christmas.
  14. 3 °C at the moment. Wind chill not as excessive as i thought. I'll be glad to see the back of this and have the sunshine return.
  15. lol I think they are using the salt that is used to stop ice forming on roads, to rub in to my wounds.
  16. Look at the first 3 forecast icons on my home page: https://www.warehamwx.co.uk/cumulus/ Are they taking the pith, or what?
  17. After all of today's shenanigans, my station has decided to show the elusive snowflake. lol
  18. 974.87 here. It's funny isn't it.. the temperature is forecast to rise through the night/early morn, but then drop around 9am, making it colder during the day, than tonight.
  19. I thought I was on a winner watching the temperature go down, but it's on it's way back up again! A very strange weather day - gales, crazy pressure drops, snow, torrents of rain, all of those reports in a single region.
