  1. I still do not understand why this information is being posted in here? It should be posted in this thread.
  2. My weather software has updated the zambretti forecast on my front page. I never expected it to ever show the forecast icon that i chose to represent it.
  3. Solar sensor repositioned! Although, I will put it up higher when I get a bigger post. Lots of splicing cables and joining to the extension cable, lots of silicone everywhere too.
  4. January has been a very interesting month in these parts. It seemed like a dry month, but rainfall ended up being above average. It turned out to be the wettest month within the last 10. The sunshine recorded at my station was slightly below average, but that is due to my solar sensor not getting a full day of light, so I would say that sunshine was slightly above average overall. The average temp came in below the MetO derived averaged for this area. I managed 8 consecutive frost days, and 13 frost days in total. Fog was prevalent too, almost 72 hours continuous on one occasion. 5. 4mm of rain during the small hours. I've bought an extension coupler kit for my solar sensor, going to try and reposition it today, somewhere that gets a longer duration of light. Temp: 10.4°C - Hum: 95% - Dew: 9.6°C - Bar: 1005.89hPa - Wind: S @ 7mph.
  6. No fog here, for a change.. it is pantzing it down, though. Fixed up a new manual rain gauge today! I dropped the other while emptying it, and cracked it. lol https://www.amazon.co.uk/Green-Wash-Ltd-47-1008-Gauge/dp/B002FIMGLQ It's a really nice and clear design - bigger than the picture suggests.
  7. Got my shorts and t-shirt on today! Temp: 11.6°C - Hum: 97% - Dew: 11.2°C - Rain: 8.2mm - Bar: 1011.11hPa - Wind: S @ 7mph. I'm getting close to breaking my monthly rain record on this station, which stands at 117mm, back in November. January stands at 112.8mm.
  8. Don't forget, that's maximum windspeeds. On Thursday, the gusts are showing at 50mph+
  9. A pretty damp and boring day. No measurable rain yet. Temp: 10.8°C - Hum: 98% - Dew: 10.5°C - Bar: 1010.36hPa - Wind: SSW @ 3mph. Above average rainfall for the month, now. 100mm on the nose.
  10. It absolutely tipped down between 4 and 5. 9.6mm fell in an hour. 22mm in the Netatmo gauge, but I know that has bird dirt in it. I've just popped out to check the manual gauge..
  11. Temperature has shot up since the warm front went through. Approaching 10.6°C, 24mm of rain has now fallen.
  12. It's lashing down here, at the moment. 11.2mm of rain, and the wind has started getting up - 26mph.
  13. Raining. Temp: 8.9°C - Hum: 95% - Dew: 8.1°C - Rain: 1.8mm - Bar: 1012.06hPa - Wind: S ~ SSW @ 8mph. I decided to recalculate the MetO averages for temp/rainfall/sunshine, to add to my historic graphs. I wasn't happy with them, due to a few reasons. I couldn't use Swanage' averages, because the low/high temps tend to be quite different to here, the same goes for Bournemouth. Bournemouth usually gets higher temps in the Summer and lower temps in Winter compared to here, but I get higher and lower temps than Swanage. I was using the regional averages for the South, but they were somewhat not representative of conditions here, either, the same with using the South West and South Wales. So, what I decided to do, was list both Bournemouth and Swanage' averages and then take the average of those two, to create a derived average for my location, seeing as i'm in between Swanage and Bournemouth - it worked quite well. #################################### ### Bournemouth ### Rainfall ## Sunshine ## Avg Temp ### mm ## hours ## °C #################################### Jan: 86.9 ## 66.5 ## 4.95 Feb: 62.5 ## 84.5 ## 4.85 Mar: 64.7 ## 121.4 ## 6.85 Apr: 53.9 ## 185.1 ## 8.65 May: 49.5 ## 218.5 ## 12.1 Jun: 51.6 ## 229.5 ## 14.8 Jul: 47.8 ## 232.0 ## 17.0 Aug: 51.8 ## 214.6 ## 16.8 Sep: 65.3 ## 159.1 ## 14.35 Oct: 100.7 ## 115.2 ## 11.2 Nov: 100.5 ## 80.1 ## 7.6 Dec: 100.0 ## 60.3 ## 5.15 #################################### ### Swanage ### Rainfall ## Sunshine ## Avg Temp ### mm ## hours ## °C #################################### Jan: 87.2 ## 65.2 ## 6.25 Feb: 64.6 ## 86.2 ## 5.9 Mar: 65.2 ## 127.1 ## 7.45 Apr: 51.9 ## 186.7 ## 9.05 May: 48.2 ## 219.5 ## 12.15 Jun: 45.9 ## 224.5 ## 14.8 Jul: 46.5 ## 236.5 ## 16.95 Aug: 46.2 ## 221.2 ## 17.1 Sep: 63.9 ## 165.3 ## 15.15 Oct: 105.8 ## 119.6 ## 12.4 Nov: 104.7 ## 81.9 ## 9.15 Dec: 99.4 ## 59.2 ## 6.85 #################################### ### Derived Average ### Rainfall ## Sunshine ## Avg Temp ### mm ## hours ## °C #################################### Jan: 87.0 ## 65.9 ## 5.6 Feb: 63.6 ## 85.4 ## 5.4 Mar: 65.0 ## 124.3 ## 7.1 Apr: 52.9 ## 185.9 ## 8.8 May: 48.9 ## 219.0 ## 12.1 Jun: 48.8 ## 227.0 ## 14.8 Jul: 47.2 ## 234.3 ## 17.0 Aug: 49.0 ## 217.9 ## 17.0 Sep: 64.6 ## 162.2 ## 14.7 Oct: 103.3 ## 117.4 ## 11.8 Nov: 102.6 ## 81.0 ## 8.3 Dec: 99.7 ## 59.8 ## 6.0 Took a while, but I think it represents the averages a lot better for this location.
  14. Piddling down again! Almost 8mm for the day. Tomorrow's persistent rainfall is likely to take me over the regional average.
  15. I was just looking at my stats.. 77.4mm fell between the 19th and 22nd November. No rain fell for the rest of November, so, from the 22nd of November through to today (67 days) 106.4mm has fallen. 70.4mm has fallen this month. Sunny today! 6.4mm of rain yesterday, a further 4mm today. Temp: 8.6°C - Hum: 97% - Dew: 6.5°C - Bar: 1010.60hPa - Wind: WSW @ 6mph.
  16. A few sferics appearing in the channel - South of Cornwall. I wonder if any will make landfall?
  17. A morning low of 3.4°C. Some sunshine today, but mainly cloudy now. Temp: 7.2°C - Hum: 84% - Dew: 4.6°C - Bar: 1007.48hPa - Wind: SSE ~ ESE @ 11mph.
  18. I can't help with an iPhone i'm afraid. It works on my Android phone and Tab. Milder air creeping in now, up to 5.2°C
