  1. For goodness sake can we all calm down and not turn this into a micro model thread as the SE Regional thread has always been a friendly happy place to post.  If we refer to to MKsnowangel opening post when we started Spring it said the following:

So as we are mainly here to discuss the weather in this region (with some other humorous, informative and chatty posts thrown in for good measure) tell us about your local conditions and how you plan to make the most of this (hopefully) more user friendly time of year....

After a lovely day yesterday with nice sunshine it's rather cloudy this morning although the blossom on the apple tree has started to come out which looks lovely against the dark sky, the temperature stands at 8.4c which is much warmer that yesterday morning. I must going have a look at the radar to see where this rain is situated and if I am going to get wet this afternoon.

  2. Just blew up the toaster with a rogue raisin from the hot cross buns; husband tells me I can make do with the sandwich toaster - there is a chap who does not understand toast addiction!

Started the day with more blue sky than cloud, now it is the reverse. 11 degrees. Hope everyone has a lovely Easter weekend.

Oh dear sorry to hear that Reefseeker, are you sure it wasn't a bad current rather than a rouge raisinhttp:////d321955.r.worldssl.net/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.png .

Sunny intervals here with a temperature of 13.3c

  3. Hoping the heatwave predicted to start from the end of the month still arrives.

Looking at the latest Met Office forecast I can't see one

UK Outlook for Sunday 20 Apr 2014 to Tuesday 29 Apr 2014:

Most likely turning more generally unsettled through the second half of the Easter weekend, as cloudier conditions with outbreaks rain, heavy at times, reach southeast England then move northwestwards across much of the rest of the UK. Brighter conditions follow later, with showers, heavy at times. Breezy in parts of the far north as well as southern coastal counties. Temperatures rather warm in brighter spells and otherwise largely near normal and cooler where there are onshore winds. Conditions then remain on the unsettled side through the rest of next week and onwards into the week after, with showers and some longer spells of rain, interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Temperatures generally becoming a little below average towards the end of the period, especially in the north.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 30 Apr 2014 to Wednesday 14 May 2014:

There remain no strong, discernable signals for any particular weather type to dominate from the end of April through the first half of May. This leaves conditions more likely than not to be mixed with unsettled spells and showers or longer outbreaks of rain, interspersed with periods of largely fine and dry weather. By day, temperatures are likely to often be near average, though at this time of year this would still leave conditions feeling pleasant in sunshine when winds are light. Southern regions probably have the best chance of above average maxima, whilst some northwestern parts may be slightly below average at times. Nights, meanwhile, may be chilly at times with a touch of frost possible.

  4. Thank you Lloyd, I am seriously old enough, believe me, seriously old! Posted Image

Oi, friend, you're off my Xmas card list. Ali, it was taken this century and the photograper, once he'd come out from under his blanket thingy and the smoke had cleared, said he'd be only too happy to snap me again. He also added that the papyrus my photo was printed on, does discolour with time. Posted Image

Joking aside Ali, thanks for those kind words.

Not a word from you either Tamarina, otherwise I'll be having a word with your photographer too! Posted Image

    Tom.

I tell you, Tom was in training for six months ready for the snow depth cup this winter. I must renew my  membership to the Netweather gym when my legs allow me to walk to the post box Posted Image

  5. Im just not a huge fan of "change" but going through it, I fully understand the reasoning behind this, but as I said threads which have had a pristine image should not also be taken guilty for others, and im sure im not the only person who does not give this new feature the green light. I will have to accept it, you've done right so far so who am I to question. Weather note its dry.

Daniel I agree with your comments and we have to accept the changes however maybe a couple of days warning would help. Glad to see that we don't have negative posts as we know where that went in the model thread last time.

Lovely day here with the sun staying out longer than expected.

  7. Chin up Tamara, you've a lot of friends on the forum so don't let the gremlins/buggers get you down Posted Image

Out here on the Marlborough Downs (extreme west of the region, but I'm one of those lost souls who is stuck geographically between 2 regions) it's been a beautiful day, with temps peaking at 18C around 2pm and some rather nice mid-level convection with patchy Ac and a few turkey towers late morning....The bbq has been prepped for tomorrow, the grass is cut, the kid's trampoline is sorted, the car powerwashed, all I need now is a nice cool beer, and as luck will have it, I have 4 Old Crafty Hen's in the cupboard with my name on them...happy days! Posted Image

My goodness you know how to live in the lost souls of two regions with four hens stuck in a cupboardPosted Image

I keep having to remind myself that at this time last year we were all looking out the window hoping for warmer weather and white stuff kept falling from the sky whilst mowing the grass this afternoon in a T shirt.
