The cloud has rolled in and the sun has gone with no chance of reaching the tempratures of yesterday.

Is the sun out where you are Chris? Still grey and cloudy here with quite a fresh Southerly blowing.
Indeed it is a real shame to see some members leaving for reasons that could be helped and should not be flaring up in the first place. Everyone who is into weather has the same rights as each and every person to be here and discuss it, meet new people and make good friends
To have a site, where on a big storm day everyone is out hunting for them and radar tracking etc, it really is the best thing I could ever want in my spare time to come on here and see what exactly is happening and get great ideas, and use netweather as a useful storm chasing tool !
So to anyone who is thinking they are of no use on here and looked down on, please just take no notice at all, because you very much are welcomed here by everyone and we all appreciate every second you put in being a member here.
In the meantime, I'm waiting for the sun to get his hat on, and to see the Gooners turn Everton over
Hope everyone has a perfect, warm and sunny weekend
Yes it's been a really lovely day with the sun out and a temperature up at 16.5c, funny how there can be variations in different places. Well the grass has had a very high cut and the garden dug around, two cars washed and I'm ................... tired.
EE, your comments are 100% on, I wonder if spring will spring a surprise and suddenly go into a cold spell after this nice mild period remember years gone by when the nights get lighter and it was cold outside.

Morning all,Yes, it is a shame Andrea (snowlady) has decided to leave. I have no idea what last nights post was about but it seems there is some nastiness going on behind the scenes. It's a shame as I think as a whole this forum and especially this regional thread is a friendly place to be!
A great shame considering all the support that snowlady received over the past couple of months. My eyes have been opened to some of the things that have been going on over the past months when I thought we were here to talk about the weather, such a shame.
My temperature here is on the way up and showing 13.5c, plus the sun has appeared.

Sorry, Chris, confused my self too and I wrote the damn post LOL. Should always read my posts before pressing the send button, not the other way round. There are lots of interesting articles on the site, it's worth a look.
No problem, I am bookmarking that ready for the winter of 2014/2015 when the easterly winds will return and the snow is six foot deep.
Ok I write for the Daily Snow Express
Temperature now down to 3.1c

It's a climate change website called 'Watts Up With That', with info on the sun and the cycle it is entering and other WEATHER related news.
I see that makes sense when explained as it read like a statement, looks rather interesting
-
Sorry I am very confused, so lets get back to the weather.
It has been a dry day here although there were times when the clouds came over and it looked like some rain, nice clear start with a ground frost which must only be the fifth of the winter. The temperature is now falling away and stands at 4.2c at the moment.
It looks like some milder weather towards the weekend although the threat of frost seems to still be there.

Watts up with that? The website for all the latest information on the sun (not the newspaper).
Sorry i am trying to work out what this post refers to

probably due to the heavier bursts they
have had some
off to bed now but there is some heavy stuff on the radar at present
goodnight all
I was listening to BBC local radio last night and there was mention of someone driving down the A1 and seeing some snow.
It's -0.3c here this morning which is probably one of the coldest starts all winter, sorry spring.

Hopefully we can look forward to some warmer weather next weekend however at this present time it seems a long way away as I watch the rain start to fall and the wind blows. The temperature has gone down -0.7c in the past hour which is not helping.

Tamara a great post earlier which is the MOD threads loss and along with JP's daily analysis is a great asset to this thread

Hello all, my god that sun is getting noticeably stronger now!
Looking at the charts at the moment, I can see a record breaking warm March coming to fruition. GFS showing 18c widely towards FI !! Wouldn't be surprised to see a local 20c before this month is out if things keep trending the way they are!
Anyway, hope everyone has a dandy weekend
From their latest update, I don't think the met office see any record breaking temperatures at the moment, slightly above for late March (average 9c to 11c)
UK Outlook for Sunday 16 Mar 2014 to Sunday 30 Mar 2014:
Current indications suggest fairly typical weather conditions for the time of year will continue during the latter half of March. This will mean spells of wet and windy weather, most likely in the north and west, but still some decent sunny spells in between. The best of the drier and brighter conditions are likely to be in the south and east of the UK. Temperatures are most likely to be around or slightly above average for late March, with a risk of overnight frosts and icy patches in the quieter and clearer interludes.

Or your bad eyesight ;-)
sorry who said that
Well it may just have stopped raining since 7am this morning and notice the temperature is on the way down slowly.

sitting in the car its 6.5c with cold rain
ps outside not in the car

I'm not going to bother lamppost watching... I'll just have to find something more productive to do....like sleep! I wonder how much time I've wasted over the years watching a bright orange light
Temp's dropped by over 8'C since mid afternoon to 5.3'C now. The forecast is 3'C and bone dry. Looks nasty heading in towards the channel at the moment on the old radar!
Depending on the amount of rain tomorrow I might venture onto the garden this weekend to lower my weather station a bit as since I moved it up higher on a pole it shakes in strong winds and produces rain readings even when dry (it's reported 44cm of rain just in Feb ), but the bog of a garden has been a no go zone this year!
I have had the same problem more so this winter with these storms
-
i think i have become a wettie
then i can pretend i have had a great winter
nice post tam
Please john control yourself, pampers reduced at Morrisions and all other good supermarkets

Well I have just been locked out of the house due to my eldest daughter borrowing my keys this morning, didn't feel too bad out there although sometimes that's how it feels before the snow. I have a temp of 5.9c here with very little wind.
I await the up date for our very own Mr Fish of the SE regional thread JP
Thanks AJ for cleaning the the thread if you have any spare time there is a house and a couple of cars requiring the same, plus the Snow Depth shop which may have a customer or too, note sure if they will have a delivery tonight as we are very busy overseas in the USA at the moment
