  1. Yep, a world away from what we have here. Thoroughly disappointing. Roll on spring I say!
  2. Wish work was cancelled today, I think I would have made a trip down to Brecon Beacons.
  3. Red warning for you guys, wow. Enjoy - from a pathetically snowless Midlands.
  4. Yep, looking at the southern edge of that more intense band that is just covering you, it will be missing me in work (SE Lichfield) by about 1-2 miles, you couldn't make it up.
  5. Yep, I really do give up, we must be inside the only triangle in the UK not to get more than a dusting.
  6. You have 5cm!! Nothing more than a dusting here, the grass isn't even covered properly.
  7. Could someone help me understand why the radar shows that ppn seems to be forming over land and not over the North Sea?
  8. You're right, but I'm hoping to get out more this summer to catch some storms. i guess this is why it's good to also have other hobbies though!
  9. Apart from, if you were in Scotland, you'd probably be under a foot of snow too. i would love to see a complete accumulation chart for this week, I would imagine there is about a 30m high, 50mike wide rectangle over us that will end up snowless. snow all across the east, snow from the polar low in the NW, plenty of snow in Ireland today and more over the next 2 days, and snow in the SE tomorrow.
  10. That just about sums it up, it will be so frustratingly close, but no cigar, not even a drag of it.
  11. I couldn't be more perfectly in the middle of the 2 protruding sections.
  12. That wash streamer looks to miss me to the North, reallllyyyyy not been my day hahaha, oh well, I've given up with this spell I think
  13. Not at all convinced still, I think it's going to be a matter of 20 miles or so, much like Dec 11th (I think), the heavier stuff stayed south of about Aldridge, very painful.
  14. Why would the systems be any bigger in France though? That area of rain posted by weirpig actually looks quite small.
  15. I have a question you or someone else may be able to help me with. Why does ppn struggle so much to maintain intensity over the British Isles? Look at that PPN inland in France, why does that not die off as soon as it comes inland? Same in the US/Canada, they can have frontal systems travelling over land that maintain intensity but they just seem to die off as soon as they come over land in the UK?
  16. What sort of totals have you guys got thus far, before the red warning has came into play?
  17. Bit further south again, i'm not convinced it will make it here. Would love to be in the central belt tonight, so jealous of them guys!
  18. @MattStoke hmm that could be why then, maybe out of town it has stuck better?
  19. Hello all, just a request from some of us a bit snow starved down here in the w-mids... maybe some of you guys could create a time lapse of the snow for this evening/overnight? Set up a camera which takes a photo every 10 minutes or so? It would be great to see the accumulation rates in the red area!
  20. Hmm that is very strange Matt. 'andypvfc' just posted a photo of snow which seem to have given a good covering in Stoke?
  21. Yeah, I caught the very southerly tip of that which gave a covering but is melting away already...
  22. Also, winds seem to be veering back E/NE'ly so that the clump of showers currently over East Anglia will miss us to the south. It is actually unbelievable how bad our luck has been with the wind directions + showers the past couple of days.
  23. Bone dry here, maybe a shower incoming in a bit (from Leicester) but it looks like it will miss me to the North.
