  1. Still clear for me, hopefully should be heading this way, south downs and then London will intensify the weather - scientifically!
  2. I'm hoping my friend the South downs + London Heating affect can give us some good shows tonight.
  3. It's amazing considering they are 50-60 miles away, but hey - I believe you can see Everest from that Distance? Some very tall CBs that's for sure, hopefully not Embedded like last time we had some, as then we can get some good displays.
  4. I can see anvil topped towering cumulus or CBs to my south, is that what you've got?? I've got literally a wall of it (or something)
  5. Ah bugger, but we can still get some storms looking at that lot out in the Channel! My estimate is it will hit either at 2130z or 2200z (2230L - 2300L)?
  6. http://twitpic.com/62kyox Take a look at this guys, what's this crap? I can't be bothered to get my Aviation MET Book out!
  7. I don't know everything though, just basic Aviation Met - which has come in handy in saving my life on probably a many of an occasion! Especially with a TSRA up your bum! (Thunderstorm and Rain) It should be good fun tonight, I have no work tomorrow so fancy watching it a bit tonight - there's a lot of that stuff in the upper atmosphere at the moment, Altocumulus etc - I'll take a picture in a minute, isn't that generally a sign of TS later in the day??
  8. Yeah, fully aware of that - I was looking at the Metoffice F215 charts, and the Trough seems to be more north than forecasted, and if I am correct the band of weather should be pushed more northernly direction than what it was 3-4 hours ago. Let's see but I haven't seen a night thunderstorm since I was little!
  9. Take a look at that lot just formed in the English Channel, direction now seems 010* heading so near enough NORTH NORTH EAST! Could be interesting for London & Kent again!! http://www.raintoday.co.uk/
  10. All that to the South West on Will it Rain Today, is that just rain or Thunder Cells?
  11. So what's the rumor about this MCS forming down south tonight?? I can see stuff forming to the South west of the UK and near the Channel Islands, but so far all it's been where I am is just CB's and rain nothing spectacular.
  12. http://twitpic.com/62fyui - it's gone North East a bit and I am on the edge of it, bugger!!
  13. Huge CB to the west of me now, It's literally following the extended centerline for Heathrow 27L/R - I do wonder will this lot be as bad as the stuff we had in June, or was that an MCS? These are just isolated babies?
  14. METAR will cover only the Aerodrome Traffic Zone, which is 2.5nms radius - it won't cover 15 miles north of the airfield. Picture from my apartment, showing westbound which is towards Heathrow (Note the a/c on the ILS heading 270* dergrees for Runway 27L
  15. Well either it's me or the Heathrow METAR is screwed lol! http://en.allmetsat.com/metar-taf/europe.php?icao=EGLL
  16. That's what I thought, I am seeing nothing but CAVOK! Someone in the Tower doing the METARs must be potty. I am 15 miles out towards the EAST, and they establish over me.
  17. EGLL 031850Z 22012KT 190V250 9999 FEW050CB 25/13 Q1014 CBs still for the latest METAR.
  18. EGLL 031750Z 22013KT 190V250 9999 FEW050CB 26/11 Q1013 NOSIG CB at 5000ft base over Heathrow, well well - are we in for anything tonight?
  19. It's a shame that this is effectively our Summer, which has been very hot at times. Then again, most people wont moan if the mercury hits high 20s instead of high 30s for weeks on end will they? I am wondering can we still break this years hottest temperature in September? Our seasons seem a bit extreme of late, maybe 30+ in September, if weather conditions permit?
  20. MAX 25 °C Min Temperature 16 °C Precipitation 28.40 mm Average Mean 17 °C
