The No Storms Club (NSC) 2014 Onwards
Buzzard replied to Jane Louise's topic in Storms & Severe Weather
Pretty rubbish at home in LB last night. The stuff that went up to Notts was on its way, then went north - and then the stuff this morning was to the east! Heard my first rumbles today at work in London - but not even any lightning, plus some heavy rain for 2 mins. Pretty poor all round. Hey ho, thats life!!- 447 replies

Finally!! my first thunder heard so far at work in Camden. The one man storm shield has been weakened LOL. How I have managed to dodge them so far has been miraculous! -

We've managed to just miss the storms from last night and also this latest lot too! Trying desperately to balance my childlike jealousy of missing storms with being a responsible parent LOL!I'll have to sulk quietly.... -

Are there storms about then? Absolutely diddly squat here. Amazing storm avoidance yet again! Oh well, at least the kid slept through I suppose!!! -

Yes suddenly a lot of beds now has precip showing on radar. Our lone orange pixel came over, bringing its 15 drops of rain!! Some heavier stuff up the road in bletchley. Best place for it ;-) -

Great shot. Looks like the main bolt hit behind a ground. Either meadow lane or Trent bridge!!The storm was heading towards me, but our storm shield moved it north. At least I have a sleeping 3 year old though!! -

As my boy is only 3 he hasn't really had much t-storm action yet, apart from that short hailstorm last June time? (the sat lunchtime one - there's so few, we know them all personally!!) So is going to be interesting to say the least...- 652 replies

Yep had a look at that earlier - just where the BBC said it would be. I presume they look for convergence zones (not being a weather techie etc..) -

Very dark in Camden, NW1. Second shower just about to hit. Got to run to Euston in 25 mins, I might be getting VERY wet very soon!...Here it comes!! -
Rain not as heavy here as radar suggested. Never a black square ;-)

I like the way the precipitation (light I suppose) is basically marking out the Chilterns on the radar at the moment. Nature in action eh! Living where I do - its always darker to the SW on the Chilterns - Just the higher ground I suppose..- 687 replies

Off to the Bro in laws for a barbie near Stantonbury MK - hopefully no pesky rain from that front (come a lot further in than suggested on BBC1 last night). But it just HAD to, didn't it.- 687 replies

Seriously though....If the summers carry on like this, many will consider emigrating. I think its worse coming off the end of cold winters year after year. I suppose the only crumb of comfort is that if 2006 is considered to be the last decent summer, we are getting closer to ten years of naff summers. Surely it will just be a phase, like the no snow period in the 90's (when we seem to have snow every year now) I'm a runner and its the windy weather I can't stand. Always feking windy!!- 687 replies

Happy with that - much easier trip to watch Bournemouth at Watford than Palace
-
Depressed myself watching the weather for the week ahead on BBC. More rubbish - breezy at times as bloody usual in this country Sunday was nice, but yesterday I would call that bloody windy rather than breezy! and absolutely freezing out of the sun...but I'm a runner and the forecasters' 'breezy' is our 'windy'

Right, its skinny rubbish, rapidly thawing here and we are nicely in the middle of two snow bands. Got Southern road relays at MK tomorrow so hope thats the end of it. Its too late in the year to settle properly, so kindly bugger off now snow, you're a bit pointless in March.. Rant over- 782 replies

Looks like plain old rain out there at the moment. Thought I would see a few flakes by the lampost, not that I'm arsed. Would love the weather of this time last year instead.- 938 replies
