  1. Cloudy skies currently after clear spells. Wind 3mph SE, Temp 6.9c. Rainband incoming.
  2. Morning all. 6.9c this morning in the shire, Overnight low of 5.8c. Cloud spreading in now ahead of the rainband which is about 45 miles away.
  3. Not quite frosty, frosty! Though a chilly one here, clear skies for parts of eastern england at the minute but the right recipe for fog to form during the early hours. Models show rain arriving by mid morning for central areas and eastern england late morning and around midday. So a contrast a cool/chilly start with a milder end to the day with temperatures responding as we pick up milder SW winds.
  4. Hope the meeting went well lorenzo! Look forward to what was said and some musings from yourself a amazing area of meteorology i love to learn more about, fascinating!
  5. After a cloudy but dry start, the cloud lifted through the afternoon and we saw long sunny spells, ending with clear skies by sunset. Top temp of 13.4c. Wind 5mph NE. Now down to 7.4c with clear skies.
  6. Will certainly be good for the already good snowcover across Eurasia and to our NE!
  7. A clear night here, but temperature down to 7.4c. Fog to form soon and then rain to arrive shortly after dawn from the SW.
  8. Milder air behind the rain tomorrow pushing in from SW so some areas of our region likely to see some warmer conditions with sunny weather come afternoon tomorrow especially in west, breezy though!
  9. Well in the garden at 5pm and it was feeling damp and cold in the air. Sun going down low. Definitely wanting to be inside. Soon be the clocks going backwards..
  10. I've brought rain gauge from them before and weather books. Sad to hear of there demise, just goes to show in struggling time for small businesses .
  11. Cloudy but dry here, light winds, temperature at 12c. This is supposedly going to be the best day of the week, hurry up sunshine!
  12. Cloudy but dry currently. Temp at 11.2c. Wind 5mph W
  13. Well it has finally stopped raining, it has literally rained for much of the day, heavy at times aswell. Rainfall here since midnight is 9mm a very wet few days for our region. I hope everyone is well and start of the working week is a good un!
  14. If it was the coldest winter, expect stories from the so called experts of weather forecasting and extreme events, with a headline in the papers, saying we told you first! Though the chances of Madden's mad winter forecast are still rather low..
  15. Good to see the Alps have a sprinkle of white on that snow/ice map!
  16. Morning all. A damp start here, cloudy with light rain and drizzle on/off currently, a cool 8.3c aswell. Have a great Monday people!
  17. Cloudy here with outbreaks of patchy light rain. Had some heavy showers overnight amounting to 1.8mm since 12am. Temp at 8.3c currently. Wind 6mph NW.
  18. Forever growing! We are doing incredibly well, am lovely the daily updates with the progress which we are making, we are up on many of the last few winters? A good omen perhaps. Obviously one part of the jigsaw.
  19. Yep the day the bitterly northerly airflow sweeped down the Country had a Rain to Snow event on the 16th in the late afternoon. Then the colder weather came with a showery regime on the Friday but a low pressure brought substantial snow on the Saturday
  20. Your close to the Wash Streamer right? Bitter NE flow with disturbances thrown in for good measure
  21. The future Thats December, you won't believe January it gets better!
  22. Interestingly it looks like after quite a while the Atlantic will storm back through this week, becoming progressively unsettled from the West. With those in the East prone to the driest weather. So more autumnal weather looking likely with bands of heavy rain moving eastweards across our shores with the jet moving south. Some great posts on here tonight with prospects into the future with regard to colder prospects to come, the Northern blocking showing is very noteworthy and the ECM run tonight has great potential, with Steve Murr and co going into much detail about how we could see benefits further down the line. Things moving along and changes afoot, but the blocking to the North continues to be a focal point, with Snowcover looking good to our NE!
