  1. Well what a start to winter, 3 snow events in South Wales already. Today it seemed unreal to be witnessing rain as the ground was frozen solid with 12 inches of compacted snow, Makes you realise just how difficult forecasting is in our location. A few pics from the upper Swansea and Neath Valleys from the past two days, both places with virtually no snow at the lower end, and an amazing amount further up. How lucky are we to live here?

  18. we had snow (not forecast) in parts of south wales last night so am hopeful the next system will bring something
  19. caught my eye in the mod thread from Ian F The issues Sun into Mon are especially tricky. UKV generated a plastering of snow even at lower elevations across W'rn parts of the W Country (incl adjacent Bristol Channel/M5 corridor up into Wales and SW Midlands) but considered overdone. However 00z EC gives quite a few cm in pretty much same areas, but that model automatically settles all solid phase ppn. Jury out....
