  1. 4th heavyish snow shower already down here!if this does carry on or get heavyer tonight we will have a nice covering with the dropping temperature.
  2. Beat me to it Callie! Another mediumish snow shower, i love days like this, even more so if it was colder!!
  3. Hi Paul, long time no speak, i hadnt noticed that feature, its the one thing i miss when looking at the Net Weather rainfall chart. Showers today look like they have been holding together ok. Hopefully that will continue to push S.W and not SSW so it doesnt swing down and miss us! Shower has finished now, temp dropped from 2.5c to almost 1c during it though. Also settled on the paths and roads but obviously melting now. I do think its that feature pointed out on the radar just now that looks the most interesting (if it can get here!) As to Nazaneen the 'weather girl' who someone spoke of earlier, i see her as a presenter only, certainly not a forcaster. Its not often i hear such a lot of tosh when she talks about whats happening in a few days time. Im sure she is a lovely person though....
  4. Hey you! answe to that is no it wont last long, almost the end of the shower now but its a good start :-)
  5. Heavy, almost Blizzard conditions here now, settled everywhere very quickly, doesnt look like it will last much longer, maybe 15 mins more but all good already!
  6. By the way i wouldnt take to much of the above posted chart about places likely to get hit with snow showers, we already have a nice heavy snow shower here in Eastbourne right now and this shower is going to get a fair bit further west too! Edit: Morning coasty dear!
  7. First beefy shower making its way SW, should be hitting me in the next 10 mins according to Net Weather radar. All snow too as the precip radar reports.
  8. I would embarrass myself and the whole 'longterm' Netweather comunity in general Mr Data, hence i dont post in this room often! Is that Northerly still going to be slightly pushed to the West? Does it still look marginal for us down south? Does the north sea look like pepping up the showers at all for us tiny minority in the South East? Is that awful for me to be talking in a IMBY way?
  9. I believe that this is the link you are looking for?! Not saying that in a "get out of our area" way though!!
  10. 2.9c In Eastbourne, slight sleety/snowgrains in the wind, dewpoint still about -1c (which is nice). Radar currently showing nowt of interest (which is boring!)
  11. Shhhh, see what you have done? Comments like that scare off anyone else writing in here. Anyway S.F.L Im glad to see in the other room you have cheered up somewhat with the current model output! Jason
  12. Sorry but i did have a smirk on my face when it happened. Its a bit blurry as i went to an all night party on the friday night, while partying the snow came heavier and heavier and we started to wonder if we would get home in morning. We finaly got back about 6a.m and after looking at the brilliant Net Weather radars (subtle advertising) i thought "what a change" seing the streamer bang over us and just missing Brighton. It had been the other way round for a few times in the week previous. The snow then continued all saturday, shame i was a lil bit tired to properly enjoy it! Anyway, when cold is around now and possible in FI for a good week yet looks like i will be glued to these forums for a while yet. Been a member for ages but as you can tell from the post amounts, i only bother posting in the winter (or thundery times in the summer!)
  13. Hi, slightly pushed off into the future again for the proper cold! Well i guess we will see, i always seem to do better from an Easterly, the last lot of snow which went on for over a day and fairly heavy at times, came from an easterly which gave us a great 'streamer style' event. Northerlys seem to fizzle out a fair bit before getting down this way. Anyway all to pay for as many say on here and could be a lot worse. Jason
  14. Charts looking a bit better ref the Easterly strength but, i was disapointed to see that the predicted temps had risen this morning. Mr Fish was showing wednesday as being the lowest at 3c, yesterday it was showing as a degree drop everyday, from today at 5c to friday/saturday at 1c. Hope this is wrong as it is making it more marginal at that temperature, even taking into account temp drops in showers. Also likely to thaw quickly in those temps. Lets hope it gets readjusted later!
  15. Lol, ultimately you just never know, but come on i bet there is a bit of you that would love it if you did have to walk home in deep snow! P.S Evening all, seems like months rather than weeks since the regional forum was busier.
  16. All good matey, you mentioned a few things that i guess gets us all on forums and which is why i frowned on the "childish" comment. I love weather in all its forms (obviously!) and it is the extreme events that gets me very exited, although im mature enough to understand the bad side to some events. That is why i think most of us wish for the Snow, and lots of it. Im not keen on the slushy stuff but for the small times that we get decent amounts im 'childlike' in my exitement for it! I know what you mean ref the missing things, East Africa was the same, i loved it but missed a little bit of cooler air!
  17. I understand what your saying friend, but, unfortunately it does tend to be the snow that we all hope for! I often wonder about this and i guess it is because in our climate it is never guaranteed. If we lived in the arrid desert i spose we would get exited about rain (yuck). I used to work outside (cavity wall insulator) and winter was a horrid time to work in, but i think to call 95% of the members here childish for looking foward to possible snow is perhaps a bit cruel? All said in a friendly way, i dont want anymore sniping or digs at each other :-) Jason
  18. The scattering always starts within 3 or 4 days, if you look at your posted chart you will see many more go for the colder option than warmer. Still as always harder to be correct after that but deffinately swinging the right way....
  19. For goodness sake there is a lot of nonsense on here tonight. Who knows what is going to happen in X amount of days time, no one it seems, not even the models. But comments like this are beyond a joke. I havnt seen any backup to what you say on here, spirits from beyond maybe? all this does is clog up the usually informative posts with absolute twaddle. Sorry to have such an outburst, yes i want it to be nice and snowy but the comments in the last day or two are driving me and im sure many others to dispair. Rant over, and i hope it gets back to the usual suspects speaking on here only soon!
  20. I certainly wouldnt want to guess which one. Like many, i know what i would prefer. The thing is most (but not all) of us would prefer snow in the winter, personaly that and icyness is the only reason i love winter, but some on here really get too caught up in this "i am right i mentioned it last week" stuff. Unfortunately ever since being a member here, many years now the majority of lovely looking model outlooks have backtracked days before they happen, no one can deny that. I want some exiting weather but there is always a part of me that says i wont happen, stung too many times i guess. If it does happen then i will be as happy as most of the others here.
  21. Lol, yeah i read all that, not commenting on any of it though, call me a chicken see if i care! And at the end of the day arghhhhh now im at it. And on to the weather..... When will it be shown that one of the models has got it wrong? running out of time now so surely its got to be soon! P.S Tamara and Stephen you both smell.
  22. And 'at the end of the day' too, that one annoys me (still hungover methinks)
  23. Well im in a bad mood and dont want visitors, might be the hangover so i would just ignore me!
