It's really nice to hear the some entertainment outside tonight. Feels like it's been boring forever.

Great video! What speed is the timelapse at? Was this the storm that was active around 1730-1845?
Yes it was indeed that storm. Shot from Rolls-Royce in Patchway. I had it set to auto so not sure on the speed.
When I left work the clouds were visibly rotating everywhere so a timelapse confirmed what was going on up there. I was hoping for a funnel to drop out.

Hi all, I took this short hyperlapse yesterday before the storm hit here. Please could someone explain the rotational looking movement? Is this the convergence of winds?

Yep, I'm looking out to my SE here in Torquay and the channel is lighting up. Allowing myself to get a little excited now
It's really gusty out there too.Yes it's blowing a right gale at the moment.
Think the next few hours should be fun!

Lightning east and south of my current location. Flashes for some time.
Currently in Ivybridge, South Devon.

Looks like we're about to get a right soaking!

I have seen 5 or 6 blue flashes towards Wales. No thunder though. Could it be lightning? Certainly seemed like it.
Edit: Make that 7, but a lot fainter.

The slack winds allowed the timelapse really to capture the convective developments

I'm supposedly under it, and can confirm dark sky above, but no rain yet. I think most of it is indeed evaporating.
Brill... thanks MP-R.

Any ideas if that rain heading to Bristol is evaporating before it hits the ground? I'm at work and I've left all my sky lights open at home...

Bristol about to get thumped? Hope so
