At least another couple hours of moderate/heavy snow to come, looking at radar. Seems to be intensifying and building out of Oxford area

Well i’m gobsmacked at this.
10 years of looking at the models and I never imagined that such a set up could bring me the heaviest snow I’ve seen in my 34 years. Closing in on 20cms here.
I just had to take my 4month old son out in it, although I was more exited than he was!
Agreed - it is truly remarkable how this snow keeps on coming! Could do with another 12hrs of it though!

Moderate to Heavy snowfall now... radar looks sweet for my location. However I'm going to attempt my daily bike ride into work. Excited to get out in it!

Enjoy Karl. Prob only snowfall of winter in SG and i've missed it! Lol!
Typical eh! Hopefully winter will have another sting in its tail for when you are in town. I'll get some photos online later.

Morning all... Just measured 9cm here! Some spots around 8cm however I'll take the 9cm. Exceeded my expectations and it's STILL snowing.
Looking forward to first light to get a proper look at it all.

The sun has made an appearance here in Bristol so hopefully this will get things going.

Too many on here throwing the towel in already. Or is it reverse psychology?
The MO warning was valid from 4pm and we're 1 hour and 20 mins into it. Give it a chance.

Tipping down but no thunder and lightning yet

24c now according to my piece of junk Netatmo Thermometer.
Those cells just south of Swindon are heading straight for Bristol. Better extend my lunch break!

Just got back from Snowdonia after climbing to the summit yesterday. Was quite the challenge with thunder, lightning, torrential rain and gusty winds, but was worth the sore body today. Managed to capture a couple of cloud shots but only clouds. Mammatus Sunday Morning and some other nice cloud formation which was moving along with a storm later in the day.

Supposed to be climbing Snowdon Summit this weekend. Forecast has deteriorated throughout the week for that location so it could be a wasted journey if its wet... Although as long as the climbing is done early enough to get back for any light shows, I'll be happy!

I'm hoping for a repeat of April 6th/7th 2008.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1584210/April-snow-worst-for-two-decades.html
I cant re-call if Bristol got anything out of this but my mind has images of some pretty heavy snowfall in a short space of time. I'm sure it was April? I was at work at the time and everything was snow covered in 15 minutes and thawed very quickly once the sun came back out.
Could be wrong though...

After this spell of snowfall this afternoon, looks like there could be a few heavy snow showers later tonight and possibly a few light ones tomorrow morning.

Morning all - Well the thaw started almost immediately after the snow stopped yesterday so today's planned drone shots not as 'snowy' as I expected but nonetheless, what a great event.
Here's a few shots from yesterday and this morning.
Cheers!
