    Remember it well it was a scorcher, around the time school broke up around mid-late July was the peak of the heat and then august was much cooler. The period during the World Cup I remember being hot. There were some decent storms that year too, a decent one in early July and later on the 14th September we had a huge one in Leeds which resulted in a small tornado.

    Currently on a late shift and it’s the first time I’ve properly noticed it tonight. A month ago it would have been this dark about an hour from now.

    This is my idea of a perfect summers day, very warm but not stifling, nice breeze and clear blue skies. Love it!

    I had never suffered from hay fever in life but that summer was the one and only time I got it really bad so that’s my overriding memory of that year. It was a decent summer though, the time around the World Cup was really warm and sunny and when the Tour De France came to Yorkshire on the 5th July it was glorious. Probably comes in second to 2013 though due to the rubbish August. We did have a decent storm in the first week of August though.

    I remember the late May in 2007, I just stayed In and played on the PlayStation because it rained all day and felt like November. The Jubilee weekend was appalling and one of the summer days I can remember. Hot ones, I remember 2009 being warm. 2017 was hot the week before and we had a huge Thunderstorm on the Saturday, the Sunday itself was cooler but still nice. 2018 was hot and sunny throughout the full weekend. In fact both bank holidays were hot that month.

    From a meteorological point of view it has been a very interesting spring but as a lover of warm weather it has been dire. This May is easily the worst I can remember by some distance, sick of it now!

    The worst has passed over but that was truly something, didn’t expect this today at all. Nice to see a proper nighttime storm for a change!

    Yeah I think I remember that, we had a showery Saturday early on but that was pretty much the only time it rained in 4 weeks. I was in Cyprus by the end but it was still fantastic weather here!

    In the latest tournaments 2018 was by far and away the best, hot throughout the tournament. 2014 was really good also and 2006 was hot. 2010 bit of a mixed bag. 2008 & 2012 we’re appealing throughout the tournament and 2004 & 2016 fairly unremarkable from memory.
