  1. Some great shots there Dave. Love the second picture - the very threatening wall cloud. Very often these have plenty of turbulance with some rotation and have the potential of dropping a tube Welldone mate.. seasons
  2. Many thanks Loraine, thoroughly enjoyable. Just watched the documentary in BBCi Player. Fantastic program all about British rainfall from the history of it to how rain develops in the atmosphere. I learnt a few things! (When air rises it cools and the moisture condenses into tiny water droplets (Clouds) which then join together to produce rain droplets). Excellent documentary with footage of past flooding......very much look forward to program 2 of 3 (The Weather). Hopefully one will be about the wind and thunderstorms! Seasons
  3. Clear, sunny and pleasently warm today with a light to moderate east, northeasterly breeze. Plenty more to come Seasons
  4. Beautiful photo's again Jurgen. Love sunrise and sunset shots myself.... Seasons
  5. 8/8 cloudcover with some intermittent spots of rain. Some bright spells around lunchtime. Winds have been very light and temperature's rose to a respectable 14C early afternoon. Tomorrow is looking very nice Seasons
  6. Great picture there mate. Love the last one, it's stunning. Welldone. Seasons
  7. Yes I did see that Dogs. :o Steve has positioned himself perfectly now. He is now 100% in the firing line!! Thats just about where I'd park up, spark up and set the tri-pod up This is great following his chase....... Seasons EDIT: He is off again, now this time I'm not sure why as the core of this storm (dark red radar echos) were heading bang on towards him <_< Maybe he has thrown the towel in
  8. Steve Polley parked up now waiting for the storm to roll in. The radar echo's are dark red/pink, so I guess we should be seeing a strong storm through his live stream video during the next 15 minutes. Some awesome cloud structures! Very lively in this area currently............ Seasons Dogs32 Looking very threatening on Steve's video.....interesting times. Will we see a nado? <_<
  9. severestudios.com - steve polley chasing He seems to be travelling west, southwest just passing through Wichita Falls (inbetween Fort Worth and Oklahoma City). Some threatening cloudscapes ahead......................speed up Stevey!! Mark Hill is not far from Steve Polley being situated NW of Wichita Falls rather than SW where Steve currently is at 21:48 British time.... Seasons
  10. Great pics there Jurgen. A small thunderstorm/downpour drifted north just to my east yesturday afternoon. Lets hope this set-up continues well into Summer with low pressure anchored over western France pumping up warm thundery plumes over eastern France, Holland, Belguim then onto Kent and East Anglia Gav
  11. Drizzle and mist sums up Suffolks current weather situation. Winds are very light and variable with maximum temperatures holding up at 11.2C. With the front being extremely slow moving I guess we in the east will have to put up with this kind of weather for at least another 36 hours :o Bring on the storms I say - yesturday had a very thundery feel about it in Cambridge. My eyes were peeled looking up and around :o there was definately something brewing but nothing kicked off sadly. Funny enough Paul, I have just taken a ganda at the latest Visable Satellite output and it clearly shows you are hanging on to the clearer, almost sunnier skies. Anyone enjoying there Easter Holiday from Ipswich to Lowestoft (East of the A12) should be having a cracker so far!! Parts of Norfolk exceeded 18C yesturday, with sunny skies and light southeasterly winds to-boot. Seasons
  12. Stunning pictures as per usual Jurgen. Sunsets and sunrises are my favourate when it comes to photography.
  13. Very pleasent Spring day here in inland Suffolk. Clear and sunny skies throughout the morning then some fair weather cloud bubbled up after lunch to leave a cloudier cooler feeling afternoon, although still nice. Fresh evening though with a light to moderate breeze.
  14. Yes Rob, I remember that event quite well. Remarkably here in southwest Suffolk we only accumulated a dusting of snow, yet 65 miles to my south, southeast you guys were getting pasted with prolonged heavy snowfall. The precipitation bearly moved that morning, certainly was a great fall there in Kent.
  15. It has to be the January '04 event. Enjoyed the 3 hour blizzard with thunder and lightning. A good 5 inches fell that evening and I nearly didn't make it home. The '08 Easter snowfall comes a very close second with 4 inches falling that morning. I remember observing the radar and watching the precipitation rotate around my location with the prolonged snowfall over me. Areas to my south, east, north and west (beyond 15 miles) accumulated no more than 2 inches. Here's a picture from that morning
  16. Should be a awesome, am thoroughly looking forward to it!!!!!! Great stuff....... Seasons
  17. Thoroughly looking forward to seeing Stu's prog. tomorrow evening. Hopefully one year in the not to distant future I can join Stu/team storm-chasing stateside. Hopefully going this year with NW (tour 2). Just waiting for cheque from recent job. They'd better hurry up!!!! Seasons - aka Mammatus
  18. Nothing exceptional down here in Suffolk, infact almost very disappointing with regards to snowfall. Had much better falls over recent years if I was to be really honest. Personally IMHO this in no way compares to 1991 and beyond. They really were the days when we had to dig our way out the front door with a serving spoon Here's hoping for the Azores High to ridge in over the coming few weeks and bring some warm and sunny weather as we approach mid-March 17 -20C Seasons
  19. Lol, Iceni if it carries on like this I might need to borrow your 4 x 4 for work in 3 hours From a very cold and snowy SW Suffolk ~ over n out Seasons
  20. Quite agree danm. The precipitation is easing in intensity now judging by the latest radar images. Still moderate here though and blowing around in the strong northerly wind. Hoping the back egde re-invigorates as it's sweeps though East Anglia and Kent...............MetO predict heavy snow in SW Suffolk at 06:00 ~ maybe a few hours of this as we're only just past 3am All about Nowcasting over the next couple of hours...... Seasons
  21. Light rain to blizzard within minutes............. Pictures to follow guys This is heading east~ Seasons
  22. BLIZZARD!!! Heavy driving snow, laying on all surfaces............... Wasn't quite expecting it to be this heavy Seasons
  23. A Winter Storm No wind, no snow..........................just moderate rain during the early evening. Have I missed something On a brighter note, very much looking forward to Spring now with some thunderstorms!!! Seasons
  24. Thanks for the updates guys. The snowfall is so very close to myself now, all within a 35 minute drive................ Should become rather interesting for our part of the world from midnight as the cold air starts to dig in from the north. I suspect TEITS down to Luton would be ideal locations for blizzards 00:00 - 06:00 (2 - 6 inches). Have recently been out for a drive and the river Stour that runs through Haverhill is the highest it's been for years!! I suspect Steeple Bumpstead (Small village 2 miles west of Haverhill) is under water ~ they always cop flooding and I suspect tonight will be NO exception with the water flowing off the fields. Seasons
  25. Well I'm right in the middle of this lot No heavy rain, no heavy snow, no wind at the moment.....................yet 17 miles to my west 'Heavy snow'?? Going to get exciting soon me thinks Seasons
