Heavy rain from 4pm through to 7pm with lots of local roads now flooding, especially out towards Balsham (Inbetween Haverhill and the M11). Then turned to sleet before heavy snowfall. It has now eased after some big flakes, almost on par with last nights cascading snowslabs.
Looking forward to a 'potentially' very snowy early hours across west Suffolk................
Seasons
I must say tomorrow evening is looking extremely eventful for many in the south................ The winds look quite a feature on the western flank as the low exits off to our east. Some strong gales across southern and eastern England tuesday am. Gusts in the region of 65mph likely IMO. Seasons
Thanks mate Certainly were the biggest, fluffiest flakes I've seen for years.
It was raining/drizzling for an hour before the snow set in. Incredible though to think only 17 miles south of here (Braintree) it's been raining hard. Even Cambridge hasn't seen much snow Maybe temperature's are a little higher there being Urban and all that
Seasons
Snow is not quite so heavy now, but still falling moderately in nature.
Hopefully it will keep its intensity and places further east of Haverhill will experience a nice dusting/covering.
Seasons
'I luv snow' I agree with this mate. I'm going to hop off the fence a make a prediction for us.
The heavy precipitation is knocking on my door now judging by the latest radar image - I suspect a good hour (probably nearer 2 hours) of heavy snow ~ this then moving east towards Ipswich. Temperature's to the west of me are a fair bit lower, so I guess within the snowband evaporative cooling is taking place bringing the snowline down to lower ground. DP's are below here, so all bodes well
Seasons
Over there, though not far from here, although some might say where
You may be in for some snowfall soon Steve, a good time for a fall too just as dusk approaches with dropping temperature's.
Light snow here-
Seasons
Lol. Certainly a wintry scene out there though Iceni. Tonight is going to be a cold one!! <_<
Quite incredible really, it's still snowing light to moderate here ~ nothing showing up on the radar though
Seasons
After a few hours of light snow flurries, we now have some big fat flakes cascading down.
BBC forecasting -2C to -5C in Urban areas tonight and -7C to -10C in rural areas. Then went on to say 'COLDER' tomorrow night
(Very little thawing this weekend then).
Seasons
I wouldn't go to Luton Tom, my great great Nan (109) recently phoned me saying how bad the snow was down there. She's back home now after injuring her hips coming off the sledge down a hill. Hope she's ok?
Light to moderate snow falling with temperature's OC and DP's 0C.
Some pictures from 10 minutes ago here in SW Suffolk.
and Sinbad the snowman
