Very light snow here in Pelsall, Walsall. WS3. Been keeping an eye on that shower heading our way on the radar!

Hi! Been awhile since I used the forum, formerly under a different name as I was in Wales. Was surprised to see we've had a little bit of snow in Pelsall, left a very slight dusting on cars/grass. Been in Sutton Coldfield all day and despite the odd snow shower there was nothing until you approached Aldridge.

Glad to see a thread like this here, love checking out webcams from around the world, mainly when they are forecast severe weather so I am often checking up forecasts for the areas, but they are still fun to check out at any time. I have live streams bookmarked from 35 different countries to be exact!

Today has been split into three different phases, the morning was all about heavy rain, this afternoon was all about heavy showers and tonight seems to be all about very strong gusts of wind so far! Not as strong winds as Wednesday but they're strong nevertheless!

Lovely day today, started to cloud over in the late afternoon though. Not looking forward to more rain tomorrow, getting ridiculous now. Bring on the Summer I say..

Can still hear the odd gust of wind, however they have been dying down throughout the evening as forecast. A few roads around Llanelli were closed for a time due to fallen trees, some schools in Carmarthenshire closed early too, amazingly the power in my house has stayed on! Normally only takes drizzle and a light breeze for our lights to go out!! Actually looking forward to a more boring spell of weather, whenever that may be.. Hearing that Friday could be another lively one though, due to rain rather than wind though.

This wind is insane! Sounds very rough out, seems to have picked up even more in the last 45 minutes..

Just like the MetOffice and their warnings.. if they overhype it you ask why, if they played it down and something serious happened you'd go mad. Same with trains, if they cancel early you say they should wait and see, if they cancel at the last minute you'd complain that they didn't notify people earlier! Some of you just love a moan.Just stay on topic - I'm watching from South West Wales expecting some rain and a little bit of wind, not much else! Unsure whether I want any strong gusts.. Waking up for work hearing wind and rain really doesn't persuade me to get out of bed

I'm in Carmarthenshire, between Llanelli and Carmarthen and I've heard people saying that it will be bad - although I can't see it myself. I'm expecting a lot of rain though. Can't see these 80mph gusts that have been predicted though! Think it'll be Bristol channel and further south that will get these bad winds, myself! Hopefully someone with better knowledge of the data and actually knows what they're talking about can either back me up or at least shed some light for us!

Can't be sure of the exact mph, but I'm in SW Wales and the gusts do seem quite powerful when they arrive! Don't expect it to get any worse though if I'm honest - although added with some heavy rain it may seem worse! But no, don't really expect the winds to get much stronger tonight.

I'm thankful for Met Office weather warnings, best for them to be cautious and keep us in the know just incase, rather than not tell us anything and then it turns out being a bad storm.As they, and others such as NetWeather have said all along though, they aren't 100% sure on just how strong/which track it'll take so it's a case of keeping a check. Too many people have read the Daily Mail and got excited over this storm. Moral of the story is: DON'T READ THE DAILY MAIL! :PJust hope we don't have a powercut.. we usually do in storms. Just gutted there won't be thunder and lightening, nothing better than watching the lightening at the front, overlooking the valley with nothing in the way! Always a great watch.

Some people really are over-exaggerating this.. Not surprised - it's been awhile since we've waited for a proper storm but lets all keep realistic!

Today has been brilliant! It was snowing lightly this morning at 5am, with a slight covering on cars. By 8am the snow had become heavy and by half 9 in the morning it was sticking. We've virtually had heavy snow all day here since. Fantastic. As a 21 year old it's some of the most consistently heavy snow I have seen. It's died off now but we'll hopefully have one or two more showers. Oops accidentally posted it in the West Midlands thread!

Good to hear! Hopefully it'll fall as snow but I think it'll be sleet. Had sleet earlier on in the day here which turned to snow eventually. Flakes were huge in size but there weren't many of them unfortunately!

I know what you mean. Reminds me of 2010 personally, when the snow would fall and end up becoming thick ice on the floor due to not much or no thaw. Being 21 years old that is probably the winter I most remember in terms of lengthy cold spells and snowfall, just a week or two like that and I'd be happy!

Wind seems to have picked up even more. We've had a couple of cm's but I feel lucky compared to Carmarthen near by which had nothing at all. Bizarre! Lets hope a few snow shows pop up tonight.

Home from work now, got there without too much trouble, snow was just beginning to settle at 6am as I got to work. Lasted until around 10am then we've had showers. It hasn't amounted to much unfortunately. Got back from work even easier. Roads are fine. Shame it didn't live up to some of the hype here but nevermind.

Slightly disappointing. Snow has almost stopped here now.

How much more snow in between Llanelli and Carmarthen? Made it to work.. Not sure if ill make it back

Really? Strange! Hopefully it'll start settling on the road here but I really can't see it happening! Watch me get to work and not be able to get home now! Ha.
