  1. for those who are down and miserable that the days will be getting shorter from friday don't panic, here is the sunset times for london for the next two weeks and it barely changes, its only from mid july that it starts getting quicker, although most on here probably already knew that, http://www.weatheron...&R=0&NOREGION=1
  2. dear me for the third friday and saturday in a row we have strong winds forecast again, 3 times in june, we barely get any strong winds here in autumn, sept and oct esp that high is stuck to greenland like a limpet, like the azores was stuck to us last winter, finally temps have got above average for the first time this month here at 20.7c today
  3. what is doing my head in, is the strong winds, cool temps and dull, overcast skies, although it has rained here a fair bit this month, rain is not constant, dull skies, and cool temps are so i don;t mind the rain that much its all of the other depressing things that annoy me. today was yet another windy, cool dull day just like an october day, why does high pressure love greenland so much in summer ?
  4. for the third friday in a row we have another windy low pressure according to the ECM, the models were predicting an average week and shock horror it downgrades into more autumnal charts, the end of FI it becomes settled but cloud may affect eastern parts from the orientation of the high though im not quite sure, its FI anyway and it will change, hopefully not into yet another northerly
  5. yep wish that would come off but as ever it always stays out in FI we hardly get intense thunderstorms/ thundery rain, these days, just crappy cool rain, boring as you say slowpoke
  6. been busy today and have only just seen the models, but im not surprised to see the models downgrading the average spell for next week high pressure continues its lover affair with greenland, shame it falls out of love with it in winter time
  7. very windy today and so it will be again tomorrow giving my crops another battering, they are doing very badly this year as we have had far to many dull, overcast. cool. wet days, we will need a hot july, august and september if i am too get anything decent this year eg, tomatoes, beans, cucumbers etc its not the rain that is annoying much me so much its the cool weather, why can we never have 25c and rain, it always has to be 10-15c
  8. ECM looks ok tonight, but at T240 guess what happens the high goes to greenland yet again and we get a north easterly i know its FI, but im not ruling it out as it is becoming a common theme in summer these days.
  9. what a shock it was a gloriously sunny until 10 am, then its completely clouded over by 11am but at least temps got all the way up to 17.2c amazing, now tomorrow and saturday it will be very windy again giving my crops another battering from midweek next week it looks better but it probably won't last long anyway and i won't be surprised to see it downgrade
  10. ECM not bad tonight, albeit pretty average tbh, it settles down by tuesday, but surprise surprise the high wants to build in the atlantic with it ridging towards greenland in FI
  11. yep last week i didn't like reading pessimistic posts but im afraid its the truth, this month has been dire, maybe its been worse down south this week than up north ? so when i see warm/average charts 6/7 days away, i won't be getting my hopes up as according to the GFS this time last week, this week was mean't to be 17 18 c even though not much high pressure was forecast, and it hasn't been those temps as i speak its currently sunny out there, but like usual the sun comes out too late in the day lol
  12. it can do but every synoptic pattern differs, the GFS is predicting temps of 17c 18c next week and people will assume that its under cooking temps, well this week it has slightly overcooked temps with yesterday and monday only reaching 11c here and today 15c when it said 17c a couple of days ago, also people seem to think that 10 or 11c maxes forecasted by the GFS in june is total rubbish for the south, when half the days this month it has struggled to reach double figures here.
  13. yes of course it will be fine if the sun was out all day and there was no wind, but it will most probably be partly cloudy so it will be feel average, still its better than it has been so far this month, plus high pressure doesn't always mean sunny weather like you think it does, under cool uppers cloud could easily spoil things, anyway its all still FI so im not holding my breath and at the start of FI it looks like the high wants to go to greenland again and we know what the form synoptic is in recent summers http://modeles.meteo...fs-0-192.png?12
  14. Warm uppers only take control in deep FI though Gavin, same old story high pressure keeps getting pushed back
  15. up to 15c today, wow brilliant for june, after a clear chilly night last night it soon clouded over and shock horror the cloud will melt away this evening leading to another chilly clear night followed by a sunny start tomorrow then cloudy by 11am then yet again on friday we will see strong winds giving my crops another battering dear oh dear Edit sun is trying to come out and it looks quite nice in london where the tennis is being played
  16. these days summer starts on september 1st and ends sometime in october
  17. sick to the back teeth of this cool, cloudy, wet dross now, it feels like it gets worse every summer, sorry just needed a moan though who knows july and august could be baking and we will look back on one of the best summers ever then i woke up
  18. just 11c here again today and yet another dull fest the GFS over cooked the temps by saying it was mean't to be 13c, why does no one notice this and only criticise it when it under cooks temps by the way has the second of febuary been warmer than the first half of june it feels like it, half of the days this month have struggled to reach double figures, probably not though according to the stats anyway apparently the rest of the week is mean't to be a bit warmer, 17c or so, I'll believe it when i see it though
  19. i bet these just below average temperatures downgrade as we get closer to the time, i remember a few days ago the GFS predicting temps of 16c 17 c for today and tomorrow, yet today it has been 10c and tomorrow it will be 13c in the south and east how are any crops going to grow in this
  20. yet again any high pressure remains in FI, its funny how we desperately long for hot sunny weather that only lasts about 3 or 4 days anyway before normal service resumes again, eg cool and cloudy dross UKMO looks rubbish and has a northerly airflow yet again at T144
  21. another shockingly cold day high of 10.4c with rain on and off, this is getting all to familiar now, to say im sick of it is an understatement
  22. This high pressure always stays in FI though Gavin, plus i tend to view the meteoicel charts as the netweather one makes the high pressure charts look better than they actually are
  23. thats why connor has kept quiet then as there has been some eventful weather in telford, nothing for him to moan about lol here its dry and cloudy, had a rubbish light shower about 2 hours ago
  24. im best off taking a break from this forum, the weather is as bad as it gets for the foreseeable, so i don't want to be reading gloom and doom posts about it, plus WUM merchants telling us how bad it is, like Eugene and PE, also my crops are doing very badly this year and if this carries on i won't be getting much.
  25. errr, Publius, Mid summer is about mid july not mid june next week may not be as bad as you think, temps are about 17 or 18 in the south which is about average and in between the rain it will feel pleasant in any sun, its not gonna be wave after wave of lows, probably about 2 lows in 6 days,
