  1. I watched the storms move out of lincs on thursday, we totally missed out in hull too, also they seemed to weaken. Im not sure if the humber is a large enough expanse of water to affect things but i wonder

Yes john that was a bit of a flippent comment probably has no bearing on the matter but it does seem to happen on a regular basis i quite agree they do tend

to fizzle out by the time they get to our area,, in cant be coz they run out of steam, further south round south to mid lincs they fire all the way to the coast !!!!!

  2. Some exciting news to report from Crewe......nah only messing, nothing here again

Im really begining to feel for you crew,, but sayin that lincolnshire keeps getting a mention on here like its some storm capital, but i can tell u up here in north lincs near the humber

we havnt really had a full blown thunder event for atleast 3 yrs we missed it all on thursday it either went south or north through east yorkshire its like the humber as some type of shield well on the south bank anyways lol,,,,

  3. The metoffice had forecast dry conditions and cloud for here all day, but from pretty much 6am(I was up early for the torch lol) Its been pretty sunny, we've even had the odd rumble and some very heavy ppn. So im hoping they are wrong again tomorrow.

Sure I just heard another rumble unless Im going mad.

no u heard right just started up again near immingham and its travelling east so should go over the top of u again matty,,
  4. Yes plenty of rain around at the moment, under very grey, leaden skies. It's always difficult to see convective activity occuring when conditions are like this, but pretty much all the main models/charts show good potential - I just hope we can tap into it smile.png

very much agree, just like yesterday, grey misty drizzle, pretty much all day the charts showed all the potential just coudnt see it happening with the murk and low cloud then boom all out of knowhere took the leccy out for a bit wasnt a prolonged storm but quite potent at the time just goes to show appearences can be deceiving even the weather,,lol
  5. will do, its starting to break up very slowly still steady rain but getting brighter or is this just wishfull thinking!! no it is clearing to the north east..

yep i think your right looking at all the charts for the last hour or so thinks u might have to dust off that passport and venture over that rickety old bridge lol,,,,,

ooopss talkin to mysen now,,,,time to get out in the rain,,

  6. Morning mate,

Hit me up on facebook later if it gets interesting, I have a feeling most of the action will be to the SE of me, across NE Lincolnshire exiting around Spurn point/mouth of the Humber, either way I'm hoping to get some footage today on the new camcorder, I am fairly confident they will be breaks in the clouds later this afternoon.

    Just done a quick video on current conditions;

*IGNORE the washing powder guy* lol

will do, its starting to break up very slowly still steady rain but getting brighter or is this just wishfull thinking!! no it is clearing to the north east..
  7. Good Morning,

A risk from ESTOFEX today for parts of the South, and then SE, EA and parts of Yorkshire/Lincolnshire for severe thunderstorms.

A rather large downgrade on this mornings NMM on the CAPE and LI, it's not as widespread, although for some areas there is sufficient CAPE to produce severe storms, with a Lifted Index of -3 to -4.

Potential will boil down to whether or not we can get that sun out with breaks in the cloud, for areas in the East and SE later this afternoon if this happens convection will spark off some storms quite quickly.

Favored areas are EA and the SE. Later in to the evening the risk extends North Eastwards in to N Lincolnshire, East Yorkshire.

    Lewis

Mornin lewis, unless we can get rid of some of this murky rubbish during the day were really goin to struggle. the potential is there for a lot later in the day it as to be said,
  8. I suspected they would but have not the faintest idea what my pc problem is-anyone give any ideas.

It must be something to do with my Bullguard security but what and how to stop it affecting what I want to look at?

sorry for cluttering up the model thread.

john just to rule the anti virus out, first turn it off and quickly try to access the site !!
  9. Morning guys,

I was going for Lincolnshire purely because in these situations they do very well.

Lately when it's looked promising form my neck of the woods further south in to Lincolnshire 9 times out of 10 get it head on. Whilst I think many areas in the East will see thunderstorms today, sadly it's going to be a case of some areas missing out, as it boils down to where the precipitation forms and the flow from the low pressure as this is going to be the driver.

I think the Humber Southwards looks very good for thunderstorms today, North bank of the Humber in to East Yorkshire/N Yorkshire have conditions but I have a feeling the main precipitation areas is Lincolnshire Southwards.

I've been wrong plenty of times before, most of the time when I've said East Yorkshire will take a battering, for Lincolnshire to then get it instead, I hope i'm wrong this time, you never know, a bit of reverse psychology might actually lead to me seeing a decent thunderstorm blum.gif

If I was supacell, I would position myself around the Gainsborough area, and be ready to head South in to Lincoln. I'm on standby waiting for something to kick off, and the second it does i'll be on the A15 heading south, as much as I hate that road!

If it kicks off here, it'll be a bonus! smile.png

Stay safe guys, could be some very severe weather out there today.

    Lewis

Yes lewis looks really good for us in lincs, today if your out and about this side of the bridge this afternoon give us a shout,,, noticeably milder this morning sun nearly through !!!
