  1. Do my eyes deceive me? Warnings for snow, especially a few days in advance? I thought a trip to the dentist may have been my fun for the week.
  2. Apparently my picture uploading skills are just as bad as my chart reading
  3. Is about time west of the M6 got some snow, however how many times have we in the west expected snow only for bolton and manchester to get pasted while we see one dangly flake!
  4. I'm liking the Meto's extended outlook it's been a long while since they were confident enough to think that cold will dominate and mild weather will be in brief interludes.
  5. We know we're more likely to get rain than snow later in the week, I fear the uppers at -8 will not be cold enough considering we will waiting for the cold to dig in first. Again like a lot of people have said though, its not worth buying into until at least 48 hours before, even 6 hours before i've been confident of snow and just been caught in a very cold puddle. At least this year we are actually seeing signs for cold weather but everyone's best guess is that we will fair better in January for obvious reasons, the best scenario for our snow chances here especially at low level is prolonged cold before an event but even then we get these stupid battleground situations that just turn into a horrible icy grauple. I will be one of the first to ramp like a beast when i see something really interesting though, the thrill of the chase can be just as exciting sometimes so i'm very much looking forward to winter this year more than the last few years!
  6. Very surprised to see plenty of hail on the ground today and a little snow on my commute. Unfortunately a couple of people already decided that it was impossible to crash in such weather and subsequently shut the m62 down for an hour or so. This could make for a very interesting season indeed.
  7. I can't seem to escape hurricanes at the moment, just got back from a lovely long stay in the states today and should be seeing some more terrible weather on Monday!
  8. I've been to the Dominican quite a few times in hurricane season, most of the time I don't even see a drop of rain and definitely never witnessed a hurricane myself. So much so that it doesn't even feel like your taking a chance, if one were to barrel through I wouldn't whinge that I hadn't been evacuated though, I'd just have a few beers and happily pay for anything I needed to get home. im going to Florida on the 29th of sept and again I'd do the same, do as I'm told by the Florida government then enjoy what I could and come home. If I had to pay any extras for flights or evacuation hotels I would and wouldn't ask for a penny from the travel agent. I'd just be glad me and the wife are safe and well. People probably should get fully fledged trip insurance though, it's about £60 and covers everything.
  9. Fingers crossed she's had enough info apart from "sending prayers" to realise that it's time to go back.
  10. He just went to bed, had his feed running until it was to dark to really see anything.
  11. I'd being interested to see how long Astro Potente can keep his live feed up and running, how many hours until the eye is over the turks? 7? Looks bad enough as it is!
  12. The south of Turks and Caicos have turned there electricity off to lessen the danger of Irma
  13. oh crap indeed, you don't have to be a meteorologist to realise that would catastrophic!
  14. I'm flying into sandford in a couple of weeks I'll let you know how it's gone!
  15. Bout time, finally got snow instead of icy rain and it bloody vanished!
  16. It's passing over me and it's just icy rain!
