  1. Nothing remotely sensible to add in regards to weather. But great news DR (S)NO that you have your young man home again!
  2. Happy New Year to you all! Im poorly as is my littlest baby, so a quiet one here......but whether you are out having a two day long Hogmanay or a horlicks with Jools - have a good one!
  3. Wishing him all the best and a super swift recovery DR (S)NO
  4. Its been snowing lightly here now for about 25 mins. Settling and everything white, but just a dusting really. Just stopping now. The kids were so excited watching it fall (me too obvs!). Not sure where that came from or if anymore could magically appear?
  5. Tentatively saying ... that I think this is our first ice day this year? Not got above 0 today (got close but not above here anyways).
  6. awful day in Glasgow and thoughts go out to anyone involved.
  7. agree with you NUT. Snow would be the true cherry but just a true wintry day for Christmas would be good.
  8. -1 here. And very frosty & crunchy! Another shot from my folks this morning! My mum was telling me she was knocking the snow off the fencing, clearing a path etc and I asked her to take a pic. The snow on the newel post hasnt been plonked on. (edit dont know why its sideways!!)
  9. had another heavy snow shower but just wont stick here at the mo
  10. Actually got caught in a little blizzard on the school walk! Bit fat wet (very cold) snow chunks. Too wet on the ground too settle. PAths were also deceptively slippy! I can see that there is a covering up on Kinnoull hills etc so maybe Ally had it settle as she is that bit higher?
  11. kingussie high st this evening (care of the folks)
  12. 3C and apart from the thunder clap at 6:30 today has just been a miserable grey on/off wet day. It was windier yesterday. Quite glad id not mentioned to the kids that there was any possibility of snow thursday/friday now lol
  13. yep Ally and cscrim that thunder was loud! Id just woken up and thought 'what was that flash outside' and then boom the thunder! 3C and heavy rain here. Drive safe everyone out and about
  14. Wind just picking up here. Ben is right ^^ its pretty chilly in it - my ears are stinging after school run! Time to get my muffs out I think.
  15. Ha I missed the little flurry Edo!! though i knew something had happened as ground was wet! (note to self - cleaning bathrooms should not be done during lampost duty) Still 2C here. Parents have sent me pics of the snow in kingussie and a nice little covering there. Have fun Hiya
  16. Are you up there Hiya? Thats were my folks live so shall ring them in a min - I bet they really want me ringing early on a sunday to ask them to check the weather. 2C here and some cloud cover and light breeze
  17. Congrats Edo! Hope you both (and kiddies) had a lovely day! And DR(S) NO sorry to hear that and I hope the future will be brighter for you (and snowier too ;-) ) not sure what the next few days will bring here, but as ever with these events it is fun to have this thread and other folks (fellow weather nuts) to share lampost watching in the early hours.
  18. 2nd frosty morning on the trot here. It does feel like winter is here, when you have that fond favourite of skating the kids to school Currently still -1, here and was down to nearly -3/4 in the night. So after reading the above posts are you telling me it is safe to enter the model thread?
  19. Another foggy day here too. Drizzly as well. 6C
  20. It was blowing a hoolie all day today, and quite a bit of rain too. Temp was around the 10C mark yesterday and today but dropped this evening to 5C. Hoping tomorrow might be drier and brighter! Im not braving the model thread tonight.
  21. Looking forward to your thoughts LS. I've been quietly lurking for the past few weeks. Edo I think BUS's comments were maybe connected to the scottish politics thread (total guess but i think its been a heated thread - though some really fab debating. Quite enjoyed reading!). Hopefully he will come back when there are some racy charts to be had!
  22. Evening all (yep im stalking the group again). Poor weather. Not too bad in Perth just on/off wet and wind. My folks in Kingussie said the river was high and the train station was flooded. Hope nobody here was too badly effected. I did see on the news that a few unfortunate folk in Elgin had been evacuated for the day.
  23. wow! no posts since last night? It has become a little tumble-weedy in March! Same as everyone else - it was quite breezy yesterday and today was just grey miserableness. But looking like we can enjoy some dry weather with some sunshine (albeit NOT bikini hot weather) over the next few days.
