  1. Was really windy here during the night - woke me up more than once and bizarre debris now in my garden which shall need investigating! Wet and windy still this morning.
  2. Well Im surprised at some of you lot not getting much precipitation, as it literally peed heavy here all the afternoon. Got drenched on the school run. It has now stopped though. Folks in kingussie reported a sleety/snow/rain mix - but even there it was not for settling or coming to anything today. However, I've heard the ski centres are getting a nice pasting today. edit - raining away again here
  3. Im dont think there will be any snow round here (perth) on Friday it looks like being heavy rain all day - like today, and yesterday, and the day before.................. I'm not loving the constant rain - and not fussed about the S-word either now - I would like the other S - sunshine! And dry ground lol
  4. Peeing it here as well - joy! Hope everyone who was celebrating last night is feeling ok this morning!
  5. Super foggy here this morning - and still is! Glad to here above that there is something better in the charts for at some point! I have to say I agree with the kilted crew that the longer this goes on the more likely Spring will be chilly. x
  6. Oh dear its all gone a bit dark in the Mod thread! Here in Perth its cold and white with frost and Im just pleased the sun has been about and there has been no rain!
  7. Thanks for the help and links! I kept an eye out until bedtime and also had a looksee when I let the dog out, but nothing to be seen. As HS says very grey here today but calm.
  8. How do you know when the right time is to watch for the aurora?
  9. Proper ice on the car this morning - not had that for a bit! Not sure if I'm up to the MT thread this morning yet!
  10. Well its looking dry on wednesday so i figure we might see the sun - Im aware there are one or two flaws with this theory but Im hanging onto it! Ahh yes I think I maybe jinxed the weather after that so I shall leave my bio be lol!
  11. Damp and dark here, but not windy. I'm missing the sun! Hoping it will visit Perth maybe on Wednesday!
  12. Definitely the former! So fed up of the December cocktail of wind and rain and really hoping to see something different in January! Looks like tomorrow is set to be another delight!
  13. Evening all! Hope everyone on the kilted thread had a lovely day yesterday! Back in Perth today, but was nice to be in the Highlands for the big day and the girls were able to make this on Christmas Eve - Looking like we might escape the worst tomorrow. Feeling very sorry for our English friends with flooding/no electricity issues etc and hoping tomorrow doesn't make things a lot worse.
  14. Hopefully you will get on better! I think they were clearing stuck lorries out the way - but not sure.
  15. Had an awful drive through the pass on the A9 this afternoon - took hours! (And this is when the snow gates were open!) Hope if anyone is travelling tonight or tomorrow you stay safe and give yourself plenty of time.
  16. Morning all. Happy Birthday Mardatha! Changed plans for travel to today instead of tomorrow. I see the south of England has amber wind warnings for today and tomorrow - where as we are just yellow. I had thought it was supposed to be pants for them today and our turn tomorrow. but has the track changed? So now we avoid the worst??
  17. Fat snow flakes here HS - not settling too wet!! Though Ally maybe fairing better with the altitude?
  18. I just went on the met office and the 'wind' warning for the UK has gone??
  19. yes! My folks are by Kingussie and ended up with a few inches this week - which has since melted. But they are expecting more tomorrow, so I would say yes
  20. Is it too early to ask when is a good time to travel on Christmas Eve? Morning or afternoon?
  21. Hey BUS! Glad you've popped back and hope everything's ok. I shall dare to look in the model thread to see what the chit chat is regrading christmas eve etc
  22. Dry and cloudy here in Perth today - though sleety first thing but now too warm for anything but rain. Folks in Kingussie have reported they have over an inch on the ground, but in my mums words its lowgrade "slushy muck".
  23. Oh dear! Away to message one of my besties that lives in NI. Windy sounding noisier here now HS - same for you?
