  1. Totals are getting better here now (the last hour has helped) probably nearer to 5 cm and temps back at 0.0c.
  2. Last 1/2 hour has been better now and had 'moderate' snow which has got me around a total of 4 cms + now, not sure if there is much more to come. Temps: 0.2C
  3. Talk about a kick to my frozen b@*#$cks! it's almost like we've got a snow colander over Burnham and only the fine snizzle makes it through - reminds me of Dec 10' when everybody else got biigger accumulations.
  4. All the models - GFS,ECM,UKMO none have suggested strong heights towards Greenland, we've only seen it occasionally in FI on some runs on the GFS/ECM which have never come to fruition.
  5. Rather tedious watching here - persistent snizzle for a long time temps: 0.4c Dp: -0.2c a getting a bit slushy underfoot.
  6. snow sliding off car windscreens, never a good sign - occasional light snow, where's the heavy stuff?
  7. Right here's a question - why are Paul Sherman's and Shrimpers (both Southend area) which I can almost see from my house - dewpoints and temps considerably lower than mine? I have 2 gauges, a top of the range hand held Kestrel in a cradle and a British standard dew point thermometer and both reading within 0.1c on temps and 0.2c on dewpoint? Dewpoint here now gone up to -0.8c - something a miss here.
  8. Temps on the rise here + 0.5c and very light snizzle, a bit disappointing with about 2 cms+
  9. I very much doubt temps will get that low overnight, I can't see the cloud cover thinning until at least the early hours and if it does -1 to -3 will be closer to the mark.
  10. The radar images just looks like one mass of cloud, you can't tell if there is any more intensive stuff in there.
  11. Almost stopped here now, temp on the rise 0.2c with about 2 cms of lying snow.
  12. Looked like the radar (1/2 hour ago) showed pretty consistent light snowfall coming in from the south east with little in the way of more intense snowfall - but will keep fingers crossed!
  13. C'mon let's see something heavier! it could be snowing at this rate until midnight and I'll only end up with a max of an inch or so! ggrrrr!
  14. continuation of persistent light snow temps: 0.0c about 1.5cm of lying snow.
  15. Really? I haven't seen any graphics that say that, only Alex Deakin said the SE might see some further snow later tomorrow.
  16. Lightish snow (which has arrived early) about 1cm and temps of -0.1c
  17. I haven't had a look at the 18z GFS but going by the posts it's just another typical run after the block has eventually been broken down suggesting very little in the longer term outlook. No shock there.
  18. I love your ramping Frosty! always optimistic, have to say what the ECM is showing is a long long way off and will probably change by tomorrow but as you said staying cold for the next few days.
  19. That could be anything - I remember the Beeb using that word a few times 7/8 years ago followed by '2-5 cms'
  20. It's the same old shape again at 216 on the ECM - low pressure close to our western shores linking back to a slice of PV near Greenland and somewhat bigger heights to the north east. It teases us at 240z but again will we see another half-hearted easterly come in before a depression to the west breaks it aside?
  21. Not really an easterly is it? ok coming from an easterlyish direction but it's routes come from further south but better than what the GFS/UKMO was showing.
