Just as I type another thunder boom!! This is fun to watch.
-
That was a big boom, heavy snow pellets now!!
-
I'll put some pictures on for you tomorrow to see lol!
-
Heavy snow showers likely, temporary blizzard conditions at times, esp 2night & 2morrow. But they are scattered, so not everywhere affected. PAUL HUDSON SAID SNOW!! Lol!!
-
Yes it looks good for some already. Distinct look of 2009 about it the way the showers will pack in later. The intensity should be great too so we shouldn't have to squint at the lamppost tonight to see if owt is happening.
-
What a brilliant day this has been for snowfall in huddersfield! It has snowed all day! Went up marsden way earlier at work and my van got stuck. Lucky I knew what was in store from being a weather geek lol.
-
Hey joggs, I use meteoradar it has an option in the top left corner to view the precipitation as rain, sleet and snow too. It's also in 5min timeframes.
-
There's some nice showers piling in off the Irish sea now, look to be falling as snow in the nw. Give it an hour and it may be snowing in Yorkshire.
-
Seriously?? Don't take each run to heart, most of the comments on the mod thread are for down south. We should be fine for some snow here!!
-
Looks to be a nice area of precipitation over Ireland that should curl back towards us over the next few hours. Hopefully snow!!

A good old Humber streamer too. Just another scenario playing out but something like this would be good. -

Model Output Discussion - Stormy Period Inbound...

http://images.meteociel.fr/im/7369/gfs-2-174_ldo9.png I would think that next Wednesday could be a fun day if anything like this. Lots of snow in the space of a few hours, let's wait and see. -
Yes i think this Friday and saturday could give us some nice little accumulations! It just takes a nice band of showers to keep pumping over us and who knows. Only issue is if they make it over the Pennines but in a strong flow it should be ok!!

Evening, the snows been good hasn't it? Got about 2-3 inches here. Just got in from a nightmare journey home from one side of huddersfield to t'other. It took 2 hours. I have been involved in a collision where I was queuing up to go up a hill and traffic was queuing to go down then some bright spark thought he didn't have to wait and sped in to the middle of the road and slid down hitting my car and about 10 others! Destroyed my wheel drum and tyre and got a big dent in the front near side. Had to scramble the car to the side of the road and change the tyre with the snow coming down then preceded to pick my family up and drive back home. Insurance claim in the morning now all because someone couldn't wait and drive to the conditions.

In the style of will Ferrell in elf, SNOW OH MY GOD, SNOW!!!
-
Just had a nice shower here, turned everything white. Hope the next lot comes in before it melts with the ground been wet. Raintoday or meteoradar.

If only they could respect the nature of what the forum is about. I love snow and that's why I come on here but I don't mind it when posters say what they see and BACK IT UP, be it mild charts or cold. I just don't get the one liners. I bet the Mods hate this time of year lol! The only thread that is respected is the strat thread, full of great posts from some brilliant posters. -

Jesus Mary and Joseph!! A few medicine cabinets have been raided this afternoon haven't they?? Get a grip it's the middle of January! The strat warmings are still to come and where the roulette wheel will land is anybody's guess so still lots of changes to come ( hopefully) lol. Ohh and I hope some of these one line merchants who say they are off now because winter is over have a great time away, I know I will not having to read their trolling posts! -

I can't bite my tongue any longer either, it's always the same posters who drivel on and on about doom and gloom. I bet they could still find fault with 2009/2010 cold period!!! Get a grip, we don't want to hear you calling winters end because output at the moment is all over the place! Every run that shows less cold they jump on and declare winter over then if cold filled charts show up they are straight on saying they will never happen. And the worst of all are the one line merchants who I'm sure do it for a reaction!! If you think winter is over then please produce a solid case for it including charts and evidence to state your thoughts, otherwise CO#k off!! -
